lovable gelato,unlovable employees 6/20/2011

I loved the gelato, i had been to italy before and i couldnt stop trying all the different gelato flavors over there and thats what you'll find here..so many flavors so little time! dulce de leche, chocolate pistachio, toasted almond, and nocciolla just to name a few of my favorites.Unfortunately,it seemed as if i was bothering the employees there, they wouldnt give me the time of day and i was the only one in there at the time! attitude.attitude.attitude.when i asked if i could try a sample the lady ""helping"" me rolled her eyes and seemed eager for me to get out..overall great gelato but the customer service is LACKING. more

Terrible, depressing 5/7/2009

Going here ruined the pleasant evening on the promenade. I did not like the first sample because it had a bad aftertaste. I browsed another group of flavors. They would not help me for over 5 minutes, even though no one was there. I asked for the second sample of a sorbet. (The signs says you can try three samples) The Guy would not let me try it unless I paid first. And he threw a lot of condescending attitude at me. These people working here are mean. Its like something out of Seinfeld---Ice Cream Nazi's. Except you won't find it funny. I won't go back here. Pros: nothing Cons: Bad Attitude from staff, Terrible after taste more

Worth a Visit 6/2/2008

The gelato is terrific, but the customer service isn't so great. Still, if you have a sweet tooth, it's worth checking out. more

tasty gelato with NO service 5/19/2008

really sorry to say that I have to agree with AUSTINCALI review about this place. Tasty gelato, lots of flavors but they don't know how to do customer service! more

I've been to Italy and the Bellagio, and their Gelato is way better!!! Wow! Wow! Wow! What can I say? I like TOASTED ALMOND the best, and they even have a rice flavor Gelato! That's funny! Pros: Great choices and really nice store. It looks like you're in Alaska or something. Cons: Parking. more

Most Miserable People in Such A Happy Place 7/23/2007

DO NOT RUIN YOUR FUN TIME ON THE PROMENADE BY VISITING THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!! The service is horrendous, even the managers don't know how to put on a smile!!! Yes, the flavors are good, but I have yet to experience a welcoming staff or even a helpful for that matter. Ask an employee how many flavors they have [it's posted on the wall.] I think one girl's last head was about to explode with that question. She stared at me dumbfounded and then shrugged and walked away. THERE WERE NO OTHER CUSTOMERS IN THE PLACE!!! If you care about good service and good times please do not waste your time and money at this place. DO NOT RUIN YOUR TIME ON THE PROMENADE BY VISITING THIS ANGELATO'S!!! Although not as refreshing, Yummy Cupcakes on Wilshire knows how to provide customer service and will certainly satisfy any sweet tooth. A friend visitng me from out of town was screamed at for opening Angelato's unlocked doors 10 minutes before they opened. They then locked the doors for another 15 minutes, deciding not to open on time. I shrugged off my first few lackluster experience to employees just having a long or rough day. But no, they are always pathetically ill-equipped to run a store. How such miserable people can bring so much unhappiness to such a happy place is beyond me. If you do dare to experience their horrendous service please try to get one employee to render a smile, it may just make your ice cream taste better. Pros: The product is good but can't make up for horrible service Cons: SERVICE...There is none! more

Tasty gelatto 7/18/2007

Lots of gelatto favorite to choose from. It is very tasy too. I can't resist not to stop by on each visit in the 3rd street. more

endless flavors 5/14/2007

The warehouse for gelato! I especially love their raspberry white chocolate and their hazelnut flavors~ Gelatos' always kind of expensive, but even a small size will fill me up. more

Very good gelatto 11/15/2006

It's cash only, but the prices are reasonable. They really do have 100 different flavors, though I feel their best ones are their most simple. I loved the chocolate hazlenut. I haven't tried gelatto on a cone (it just seems wrong or inauthentic?) but I'll give it a whirl one of these days. Pros: excellent gelatto on 3rd st more

Great gelato! 8/14/2006

Get the strawberry cheescake flavor. You won't be disappointed. more

Varieties of Ice cream Treat! 4/10/2006

There are over 100 varieties to choose from for your gelato! It is a heaven for ice cream lovers; one actually end up what to get since there are too many choices to choose from. They restrict you to only three samples - even if you are buying more than 3 flavors... It is a fun treat and experience; but some workers over there have attitude problem - for the past three times I've been there. But it's worth a try if you are around the area. Pros: variety, fun treat Cons: limited sample, worker attitude more

Yummy and distinct!! 6/14/2005

I have been looking for a gelato store since coming back from the East coast! I finally found one in 3rd street. This gelato store has many many flavors and you can taste the free samples as well. I personally love the Almond Avalanche. more

Best in Los Angeles! 6/11/2005

This is the best ice cream in Los Angeles. Actually, it's the best dessert place in the entire United States. The flavors are sensational and the environment is just lovely. Pros: Great Service, Terrific Food, Fun Atmosphere more

Excellent Food 6/7/2005

The food is excellent. Try the paninis and the different desserts. Of course, there's always the gelato, which is the best I've ever had. I've even been to Italy and the gelato doesn't there doesn't compare! Pros: Perfect!, Romantic! more

This place ROCkSss! 6/6/2005

This gelato place is absolutely bomb yo! I went with my friend a coupla days ago and the servers were sooo unbelievably nice! They let me try flavors and recommended great suggestions! I ended up with Blueberry Ripple and it was the best gelato I've ever had in my entire life. Word. more

Terrific Gelato 6/6/2005

The best Gelato I have ever had. Highly Recommended. Service is Great. People are friendly. Owners are great Pros: Decor, Food, Customer Service more

WOW.... 6/5/2005

This is the biggest Gelateria I have ever seen in the United States. You definately can find something you will like there. Both the sorbetto's and the gelatos are absolutely amazing. I really like the Capuccino Cookie and the Green Tea. You can really taste the flavors. Pros: Lots of Flavors, Helpful Staff, Great Quality more

Very Yummy! 6/4/2005

I can't believe how many flavors there are. My friends and I wanted to try something new and exotic. We had Pannacotta, Vanilla Strawberry Marble, Bacio Gelato, and Aloha Paradise! You won't see these flavors anywhere else! This cafe should be on the Food Network - it's cute, quick, clean, and romantic. It's also very affordable! No time to stop by? Ask someone to bring home a bucket of your favorite flavor. It's very convenient. I've already brought home a couple of buckets myself. But you should definitely visit for the ambience alone. Pros: Healthy, Affordable, Exotic more

Way better than Gelato Italiano! 5/31/2005

Why settle for 24 flavors when you can have over 100? Angelato has it all - gelato, sorbetto, tofulati, and yogurt! Hungry? Their panini sandwiches are superb! Want something even fancier? Try their novelties! This is the best place to go after a nice stroll around Santa Monica Beach. Thank God it's healthy...because it's super addicting!!! Pros: Lots of Variety!, Heavenly taste!, Good bargains! more

OMG! The yummiest place on earth. 5/29/2005

First of all, the ambience is awesome! It looks like the cleanest, most funnest place in the world. Bring your kids! They'll love it! It's also a great place to bring a date since it's in the middle of 3rd Street Promenade. The service is excellent. The workers are so friendly and they really know their gelato. The cafe has over 100 flavors of gelato! I've been there almost every week for the past 6 months, and I've always tried a new flavor. All of them are absolutely amazing! The product is the epitome of gourmet food, so the price is a bargain. Forget about ice cream, it's all about the GELATO! Pros: Wonderful Ambience, Best Dessert Ever!, Friendly Workers more
