This is a stunning old synogogue, that despite still being under massive rennovations is one of the most beautiful spaces in New York, perhaps because of its unifishined quality of decay. The space is often rented out for special events (from goth festivals to weddings to an all-night reading of the Odyssey) and with the right lighting (which they helpfully provide), it's as if you've stepped into the faerie lands. You absolutely, positively, must make a point of checking it out.
