As a loyal and regular customer for over 14 years at the Downtown and Mt Pleasant locations I am saddened to say the food and the service have declined terribly in the past year or so. Specifics: called in about a month ago for a 1/2 cheese/pepperoni to go, 20 minutes. I arrive, drive through, kid comes out takes my money, it'll be a minute. 30 minutes later the girl comes out apologizes, hands me a pie. I'm a little miffed but tell myself well at least it will be hot.... right there I open the box, slip my hand under the pie, COLD! The pepperoni wasn't even cooked! ....Sorry sir, we'll reheat it. Another 10 minutes. She had no excuse for the episode.
I visit Mt Pleasant at least once a week for 2 slices and a coke for lunch. I go a little later to avoid the crowds. Today I arrive at 1:15pm order the usual take my cup and sit at the counter. About 3 other tables all served. It starts getting a little busy, not slammed just busy. 2 cooks, a counter girl (btw same one as a month ago) and a server. 20 minutes later after watching numerous orders go out I finally motion to the more senior of the 2 cooks that I'm waiting on 2 slices. He turns to the other guy 2 slices come up. The pizza was old, HARD, crust deflated, drive a nail with it HARD. Horrible.
Edie, you need to do something here. You have a good, yet inconsistent product. It's ok to be bohemian and laid back but when you wonder why the business died off, these posts will have been the harbinger of that failure.
I was always your biggest fan, referring my out of town clients to Andolini's as the place to go before they left the area. I'll try the place again in a few weeks. Until then the recommendation is a NO GO.
