With one word ""I Love This Place""! I like their soup, brick oven pizzas, wine and many other foods in their menu. We'll go back definitely!

Ok, what can I say that is good...the cheese fritters were great! The atmosphere was good. The rest of our dinner was not so good. Honestly, I doubt I will be going back to this p...

Really good 11/11/2011

They have great food at great prices. I really love the crab cake. I'll be back more

Why did I miss this place 3/6/2011

I have lived in Nashville for over 5 years now. I drove by this place numerous times, but never had gone in. What a huge mistake that was. I ate here for the first time last night for a friends birthday, simply awesome. I had the crabcake, divine; the lamb ragu, spicy; and the gelato was for dessert, salty melting into sweet. All in all one of the best meals for the money I have ever had in Nashville. I will definitely be stopping in again. more

Delicious! 3/5/2011

Always my favorite place to dine when I'm in town. The service and food are always great! The wine list is also one of the best values around. more

Ugh, what a waste of money! 12/23/2010

The first time I went I ordered the salmon plank at the recommendation fo the waiter - wow - was it boring, bland and cool to the touch! The salmon seemed to be cooked well, but it was so bland and the side veggies too! Well, I thought I'd give it another try (since I'd purchased two online coupons) and, much to my dismay, the same experience the second time around - boring, bland and not even hot! This place may have been great at one time, but no more! Bland, boring and cold food is what they serve! I will not be back. more

Terrible Food 10/17/2010

Expensive and bad. Food is over-salted and the flavors are one-dimensional and bland. Amerigo's culinary principle?: smother it in cheese and cream and most people won't care! There's nothing Italian here except the prices. If you like cafeteria-style ""Italian"" then perhaps give it a try. Also worth a try if you want to feel like swallowed rocks for the rest of your evening. more

Great Italian for a great price 7/6/2010

I eat at Amerigo whenever I travel to Nashville for business. I have always had a great experience. I typically sit at one of the bar tables so I can look out onto West End and do some people watching. Recently I've started trying new menu items and haven't been disappointed yet. The Cheese Fritters are outstanding and the Cedar Plank Salmon is delicious. To make it even better, the price is very reasonable. I wish they would just open one in my hometown! Pros: Good service, delicious food Cons: Don't have one where I live more

Has it all. 1/10/2010

My wife and I stopped by on our way home from a Preds game. We had our jerseys on and everything. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. We received excellent service despite our appearance. The wine list was very reasonably priced and paired perfectly with the menu. There really is no substitute for great Italian wine with great Italian food. We will be back very soon! Pros: Great food, wine, and service more

Wonderful place to eat! 6/23/2009

My friend and I had a good time at Amerigo. I ordered the Cannelloni Al Forno and It was delicious and the Creme Brule Cheesecake was awsome. It was so big that I couldn't eat all of it. Our waiter Stefan was very nice too. I will definitely be back. Pros: Great food and service Cons: Parking more

It's Good and I'm not an Italian Food Fan 3/9/2009

The food has always been good. The smoked duck and sausage pasta is spicy and delicious. The lighting has always been bad. If you enjoy sqinting to see your date, ignore previous sentence. The prices have always seemed a bit inflated. The aforementioned pasta dish is $13 with no sides, salads, etc. You decide. Pros: service, attention to detail Cons: lighting is atrocious more

Great Italian Food 4 Good Price! 10/6/2008

My husband and I went to Amerigo last time we were in Nashville. We found it through this citysearch site. The food was great and the price was very reasonable. We didn't see any country music stars, but I bet some of them frequent this place. We would if we lived in Nashville! more

Nothing Special.... 6/21/2008

Was here the other night for dinner with friends who love this place and I just don't get they hype. The food actually tastes rather bland to me. Had the Chicken Marsala and it kind of reminded me of the tastelessness of a frozen entree. The restaurant itself is nice and the service was excellent but I only go here to appease the friends would never pick it for myself. Pros: Service Cons: Bland Food more

Best service on Earth! 6/6/2008

Amerigo has the most polished service I have ever seem. Everything from the sandwiches to pasta, chicken, fish, and dessert is fresh and very tasty!\r Pros: Service impeccable - the food is delicious more

Great Italian food; Great atmosphere 5/21/2008

Amerigo has been a staple in my family for years. I love going here. I've never had anything that wasn't good, so feel free to try whatever. I am Italian, and this place gets my seal of approval. The atmosphere is also great. Very low-key and comfortable. Great place to take a date or have a family dinner. Pros: Awesome food and atmosphere Cons: A bit pricy and have had bad service before more

NOT Italian Food-A Joke 4/4/2008

If you like chain garbage like O'Charlies, Ruby Tuesdays or TGI Fridays with a boring wine list (Ecco Domani, Beringer, etc.), you will love this. If you enjoy true regional Italian created with flair and a wine list that is unique (Villa Puccini Pinot Grigio, Terra Nostra Chianti et al) then STAY AWAY!!! more

Great food with questionable service. 3/31/2008

We made a big mistake when my wife asked to be moved to another table to avoid the draft whenever the front door was opened because we had to change servers. At first ours appeared quited hospitable and knowledgeable but got so busy preparing a large table for a large party that we were forgotten. I asked for hot sauce for my gumbo, which was merely average, and was almost finished before my wife hailed another server to bring it. Wanted wine with entree but server never checked back after someone else delivered food. Finally got a glass half way through the meal. Waited forever for check and was brought a drink order list for the server's large party by mistake. Tracked him down again and finally got out of there. If you can tollerate poor service, the food is great. Pros: Great food, good selection, fast delivery of entree and appetizers. Cons: Server never checked back after taking order, brought wrong check, totally distracted. more

okay food, poor value. 3/22/2008

Before Eating here, everytime I drove by this restaurant on westend, I told myself, ""I have to eat there"". Well I finally did, and feel letdown. The staff was friendly, and the food was okay, but the value is awful. I think I paid like $28 for a filet mignon. I have no problem paying a premium for a steak, but I dont even think it was Prime meat. I had a much better steak at Stoney river for less! I know italian restaurants arent steakhouses, but my food did come with pasta which was okay, but nothing better than what I could get at carraba's. My girlfriend didnt really care for her spaghetti and meatballs either. She told me the meatball was good, but the sauce left alot to be desired. Pros: Great ambience, nice staff, cool location. Cons: Too much money for the quality of the food. more

Great Food and Great Service in a Cool Location 1/1/2008

We are from Louisville and came into town for the Music City Bowl. We were lucky to find Amerigo. It was very busy because of all the people in town, but we sat in the bar and had a few drinks while we waited. When we got a table we had a great server and a great dining experience. The wine list was great. We had a really great Chardonnay from Italy. I didn't even know they had wines like this from Italy, but it was a great server recommendation. For an appetizer we had the Tennessee Cheese pizza, which was awesome. For dinner we had the Cedar Planked Sea Bass and the Pork Tenderloin. For a dessert, we tried the Creme Brule Cheesecake. All the food and service was great despite how busy it was. While we were there we discovered that Amerigo also has a location in our home town of Louisville. That was great news and we will be sure to visit. All in all a great experience. Pros: Great food and great service Cons: Very Busy more
