Without hesitation, I would have to say that this museum requires about 3 days of full attention. However, if you are just visiting NYC, like I do, I suggest you make sure to see ...

Dinosaurs were great, but...... 8/24/2002

The dinosaurs and the planetarium were wonderful, but past that it was somewhat of a disappointment. Skip this one and spend an extra day at the Metropolitan. Pros: Dinosaurs, Planetarium Cons: So So facility, dioramas were boring, other museums better more

Overpriced 8/19/2002

I'm sorry, but charging $17 for the ""Baseball as America"" exhibit was a rip-off. I understand that the rest of the museum can be quite wonderful, but $17 for a ticket to a museum that is federally funded seems just a wee bit steep. Add in to that the fact that The National Baseball Hall of Fame charges less than $10, then the AMNH comes off as just plain money grubbing! Cons: Way overpiced more

Kids will love it 6/26/2002

There's actually not a whole lot new or innovative here, but it makes for a full afternoon if you try to see the whole thing. Kids love seeing all the exhibits, but grown-ups will feel like they've seen it all before. Pros: Great for kids Cons: No innovations more
