I ordered the sword fish from the daily specials and it was the best I had for a while. Pros: very delicious fish! Cons: Can not think of one!

My boyfriend and I have been going to Amelia's for our anniversary for the last few years. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is intimate and relaxing. We currently live in the North End of Boston and both of us agree that even here there is nothing comparable to Amelia's. Make sure to make a reservation for the back room! more

We recently had dinner at Amelia's on Balboa Island and found it to be a charming little neighborhood Italian restaurant with terrific and authentic Italian food. Service was excellent.\r more

Clam Bisque was amazing! Ambience was surprisingly quaint. Usually when I think seafood restaurant, I think of red lobster which is super loud and people running all over the place. But it wasn't at all. It was quiet, waiter was nice, and we didn't have to wait long at all for our food. Muy bien! more

The staff was amazing and the food outstanding. We had the lobster raviolis and clam bisque to start. Both dishes were amazing! We had fresh halibut and salmon for our main courses and they were delicious! The wine was great and the desserts tasty. The atmosphere was intimate, warm, and friendly. I would and will return soon. I know now why they had stayed in business for 50 years-great food and terrific staff and service. more

When I think of Italian food, the first restaurant that comes to mind is Amelia's Seafood & Italian. My husband and I love the atmosphere, the service is wonderful and most importantly the food is excellent. I would highly recommend Amelia's to all my friends and family. more

Amelia's Seafood 11/7/2009

My company had a Christmas luncheon here. we had the upstairs to ourselves. But it felt like we were visiting family. Love that it's on the island. The martini's were really really good. The food was good, but not great. They took really good care of us. more

Good Island Experience 1/23/2009

My husband and I really like Amelia's. It has never disappointed us in the quality of the food served, but prices could be considered a bit on the expensive side. We have stayed on the Island many times and make it a point to have dinner at Amelia's at least once each time we go. more

Good Italian food, small restaurant 7/22/2008

Amelia's was packed when I went there and it made the experience less pleasant than normal. The food was good but not great. And the prices were a bit high for the quality of the food. It's also very difficulty to find parking in the area. I wasn't impressed enough to go back. more

Quaint and romantic 11/30/2007

Went here for an early dinner once. Lucked out and found parking right out front but the only negative thing I have to say is that parking can be horrible in this area when its busy so leave a little extra time. Now, the food was excellent. My husband and I both had the lobster ravioli in a cream sauce paired with a nice chianti. The serving size was perfect - you were pleasantly full and we managed to have a little room for dessert, which was also excellent. The ambiance was intimate and classy. The service was outstanding. The price was fair for the high quality of the food. more

Amelia's 2/7/2007

If you like garlic, this is heaven. But that's all there is. On a recent visit, when bread and butter were served, the butter was rancid. When we mentioned this to the waitress, her only comment was that no one else had complained. We should have left at that point, but made the mistake of staying. It took 45 minutes for our meal to finally come, and when it did, the garlic was so strong that it overpowered the taste of the food. So: service -- 1 out of 10., food: 2 out of 10. And that's being generous.\r \r Robby K. more

Excellent food....poor people skills. 1/12/2007

This was highly recommended by a friend of mine that lives near the restaurant. We were really impressed with the food, but the service was not the best we've had. As we entered, we were asked if we had reservations (yes), the next question was how long we thought we would be there!!! I've never been asked that at a restaurant, and didn't quite know what to say, but I told her that we wouldn't be long. We were seated right away, and we told our waitress that this was our first time and asked what she recommended. She replied ""All the fish dishes were good, but if you want pasta, the pasta is a good choice too"". So we ordered and then we overheard the waitress at the next table explaining all the ""specials"" that were not on the menu. Our waitress failed to mention these, and it bothered us. Pros: Great food Cons: service, parking more

Seafood Restaurant??? 8/14/2003

When you walk in you see an Italian Restaurant , Pasta, etc. But I strongly recommend the Fresh Fish which are some of the best in OC. more
