Great theatre. Super location. Decent ticket specials. 6/25/2011

I've been a Block E fan for years, mostly due to location to South Minneapolis and Uptown. It has gone through some transition and yes, it used to be a little squiffy (let's say) but I have never had a bad experience, ever. Minus one movie that skipped but I've had that at other theatres in the burbs. The parking is $2 when validated but the tickets are usually a few dollars less than competitors like Southdale and Roseville mall. $5 movies during the week and matinees. more

Things have changed 1/22/2009

Just got back from seeing a movie and listening to all the people who talk throughout the movie, whether it's to each other or on the phone. Sad because it's a nice theater and living downtown, it's a great location. Pros: location Cons: environment more

Noisy moviegoers! 11/6/2007

We went to see a thriller, and the audience was really loud. Someone in the back row appeared to have thrown up from misuse of something. The group was escorted out during the movie. more

Block E Rocks 4/1/2006

Block E has the most fun bar on the planet! The Shout House Dueling pianos. These guys know almost every song ever written, and the ones they don't know they make up the words, and it is an absolute riot. The most fun I have ever had in a bar, I frequent the Shout House, and every night is differant. The best people watching is the best in the Twin Cities, a whole lot of beutiful people hang here. Pros: Music, Comedy, People Watching Cons: Crowded, Parking more

Nights worth 8/31/2005

You could definitely spend anevening with a group of friends at block E. It's great just to be downtown; not only can you see a movie (late if you want), eat, and shop... but you can also play games and/or have drinks at Game Works. There's a lot right off of Hennepin that charges a flat $3 for parking in the P.M. Oh yeah one more thing about the movie theater: sometimes they play new releases at midnight the day before it comes out in all theaters. (i.e. Lord of the Rings) Pros: block E is loaded Cons: look for cheap parkin, nice to be 18+, bring cash! more

This place is a nice addition to Downtown Minneapolis. It's way better then the parking lot that was there. Hopefully, it wont be another City Center, Gavidae disaster.... more
