Fun for any age 8/16/2005

Amazing Glaze is a fun place to paint ceramics for just about anyone. Children enjoy the messy creative process. I've seen couples on dates, families having quality time, girlfriends getting together. They offer just about any shaped ceramic item you can imagine, along with the paint and brushes. First you select your item, then paint it, Amazing Glaze with fire your piece and then about a week later, you pick it up. This is a great place for birthday parties. They will also let you pick up a party or bring the party to you. more

A Cool Place 8/5/2005

This place is a cool, fun way to spend an afternoon or evening. You can work at your own pace and visit with friends while creating artwork in the process. I also think they have a great selection of pieces to choose from. It's a great place to go with friends to relax and have fun. They have varied and useful items to paint for yourself or for gifts. They've even pulled out catalogs to special order items. The best part is the relaxing atmosphere and helpful employees. We brought in a bottle of wine and had a totally enjoyable experience! more

Amazing Glaze - Raleigh's First Paint Your Own Pottery Studio 7/9/2005

Amazing Glaze is located in the popular City Market area of Raleigh. It’s Raleigh’s first paint-your-own pottery studio. They offer a wide variety of unpainted pottery for you to choose from. You buy the piece (priced by size/complexity – generally $5-30) and then you buy the studio time ($6 for adults, $4 for kids per hour). They give you all the paints and brushes and you just go to it. Then, a week later, after they’ve fired it, you come pick up your piece. It’s perfect for a personalized gift or to make something unique for yourself. They also have specials a couple days a week to make things cheaper – like date night or kids day, etc. Check out their website for what is going on - - or to get a coupon. You can also schedule parties there for adults or youths. It is nearby to lots of cool and funky shops and eateries so you can easily make this a whole day trip if you want. Parking can be difficult as it is all on-street with 1-2 hour limits during the day so be prepared to spend some time looking. A great time to go is during First Friday, held the first Friday of every month where all the shops and galleries in City Market are open til 9pm. more
