Alpine Electronics was great! I called in the morning, on a Friday and asked how long it would take to fix my TV. They said it would probably take until Monday to look at. There was a $49 ?Bench Fee? which would go toward the repair. I wasn't really sure about that, but took it in anyway.\r \r When I got there, I asked how much the repair would cost. The man at the front desk said he did not know for sure, but the average cost for a TV that size was about $200-$250. I paid the $49 bench fee and left the TV there, as it would cost a lot more than that to replace.\r \r I got a call around 5 p.m., still on Friday, letting me know my TV was DONE! The total cost was only $175 because they were able to rebuild the board instead of replacing it.\r \r Overall, they exceeded all of my expectations. The TV was repaired in 1 day, when they said it would take at least 3 to even look at it, and it was under what they originally thought the cost would be. Very professional and honest!\r \r Thank you, Alpine Eelectronics. more

My experience with Alpine Electronics was very positve. I had a laptop that would not turn on at all. When I went in I was told that it could be a number of different things, one being the DC jack, another the power supply, or possibly the mainboard. The guys there let me know that there would be a $35 dollar bench fee to test the laptop and find out which of those problems it would be. They then gave me a ballpark estimate for each issue. Before I even paid the deposit, one of the employees tested the power supply and told me it was not the problem. I paid the $35 and left.\r \r Later that day I received a call from the shop. They told me that they had disassembled the thing, and checked the motherboard which was not the problem, but the DC jack (which is apparently attached to it) was. They gave me a firm estimate that was in the range of the ballpark estimate they gave me when I dropped off. \r \r When I asked if they could also stop the pop ups and generally annoying things that it was doing before the power issue, they said yes, and let me know that it would be an added cost. When I checked around, it was way less than any other computer shop I called. Maybe that was because I was having 2 repairs done. I authorized both repairs and picked up my laptop the next day.\r \r Very competent, friendly techs. Excellent service and turn around time. more

I called about a small crack on the bottom of my Asus Transformer tablets screen and how since the crack it was no longer responding to touch, but would work with the docked keyboard. They immediately said the digitizer needed to be replaced, they knew how to do it and could do it fast. I took it in there, made sure they knew I needed it for school. This was around January 11. They told me 3-5 days to get the part shipped in and replaced. After waiting a week they informed me they got the wrong part. Same story a couple weeks later. They then proceeded to tell me that the particular model of Transformer I owned had 4 different possible digitizers and no way to know except for it being printed on the back of the previously installed digitizer. The previously installed digitizer was shattered and destroyed when they first received it and were removing it. They tried ordering in different digitizers 1 at a time and none of them worked. At this point they told me I could come back and pick up my tablet and get my money back except for the cost of the digitizer. They would ""allow"" me to pick up my now more broken device and pay for a part they didn't even know if it would work or was the right part. My only option was to have them finish the job. They eventually ordered all 4 at the same time. Tried them all and none of them worked. Eventually one of the employees had the great idea to hook it up to a computer and do some diagnostics on it. Yes the digitizer did have a crack, but it was not the problem, I have seen many far worse cracks on tablet screens and the tablet still worked. It was a totally different part. They ordered in the new part and replaced it. I now had a tablet with a new digitizer (possibly not even the correct one) and another repair done. As I mentioned I dropped my tablet off around January 11, and picked up it up April 24. More than 3 months!! I was happy to have it back as I was leaving for Mexico on May 17 and wanted to take my tablet so I didn't need to lug my laptop all over. The new digitizer didn't even last that long. 2 inches of the top right corner broke off and went missing within 3 weeks. And I never even got to use my tablet, a very handy and familiar device, for that entire semester. Worst service ever. And they had the audacity to tell me they were doing me a favor as they had to spend money to buy the digitizers to fix it. They need to stick with tube TVs. more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! They initially told me they could fix my TV in 20 minutes at my home. The part came in wrong, so they needed to take TV - that was TWO WEEKS ago. Today I told them bring it back now and they (Edward) hung up on me! We now must proceed legally! more

We had a tv to be repaired, a tech came to our home and gave us a diagnotic of a bad board, this was a Tuesday, was told they would order it in. Then the owner called and said the tv had to come to the shop, someone would pick it up first thing Saturday morning. Waited most of Saturday and no pickup, finally called and was told it would not be until Monday. I asked how long to fix our tv and was told curtly he had no idea. I said it could be weeks? months? years? he said he had no idea but probably 2 weeks. Tv was at shop for week and half then finally they bring it back...with no power cord. They insisit I had the cord, but I did not, I explained we would not hide the power cord to our Tv, the tech drove back to shop and came back with a cord and .....shocking part now....MY TV DOES NOT WORK. Black screen. Was told they would order another part... a week goes by and I figure at this point I am done. I phoned owner and asked for refund of the $100 I had paid so far and was told that I had to be charged a service fee. I as kindly as I could explained there had been no service, so I am basically being charged for a visit with the tech?? He said he would have the tech call me. No call yet I guess maybe he is not working either. more
