No elementary school experience is complete without a field trip to Aloun Farms. My daughter recently went with her kindergarten class to the Pumpkin Patch at Aloun Farms. Parents and kids were given a short tour and then whisked away on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch where three varieties of pumpkins grew and could be picked. This is a great experience for young children who can learn about agriculture and the different crops that can be grown on the island. Aloun Farms also offers a Corn Maze program in the spring for schools. The patch is open to the public in the fall -- perfect for choosing pumpkins for Halloween.
