Editorial review from Citysearch 1/20/2013

I have been taking my canine and feline family members to the Allen Animal Hospital for over 15 years now. The entire staff has demonstrated their compassion and dedication to the care of the animals that they encounter and their caretakers. The circumstances and options have always been explained so that the best decisions may be made for the animal. We have been well cared for over these years. The doctors, techs and support team are also wonderful advocates for those creatures that have been abandoned and mistreated. They give their time and services in an effort to improve the lives of those creatures that have been neglected in some way. I highly recommend this team and often do to friends and family. more

Very bad experience......would never do business here 10/20/2011

This animal hospital receives NO STARS!!! They received a stolen dog which is my dobey and when I went to try and retrieve my family pet ARDA was very rude and non-compliant. I had to go to 2 different police stations to get my dog back. If I could truly show my anger on this page at how this situation was handled trust me I would. I am beyond dissapointed, upset and pissed that this lady handled this situation the way she did. I almost didn't get our family pet back. Trust me I will ruin this womans business EVERY chance I get. Businesses that receive stolen property should be shut down!!! And on top of that she would not give me a list of any vaccinations that my family pet received while there....she had him for 3 days!!!! VERY RUDE AND NASTY to deal with. more

12 Years of Care and Compassion and NEVER a bad experie 10/19/2011

For more than 12 years, the vets at Allen Animal have taken the most excellent, compasionate care for my shelter rescued dog I could ever ask for. The staff was always pleasant, often very busy, but never rude. Dr. Denise Boland was his primary vet thoughout the years, and patiently understood and accepted his fears and medical issues. He was not a healthy dog, but he was well taken care of by Dr. Boland. She never rushed through our appointments, she listened to my updates and questions and returned every phone call I ever placed to her, and personally called with various test results or follow up statuses. I only wish my medical doctors would give me the time and concern that Dr. Boland provides her patients. Medications were often necessary, but not overly prescribed, neither were expensive tests. She discussed the various options and helped me through my decision about whether to operate on his cancerous tumor two years ago (which she successfully removed) at the age of 12, and did not push for additional treatments such as radiation or chemo. She saw him right away and tested him thoroughly when I suspected he suffered a mini-stroke or seizure last winter. Last week, at the age of 14+ I suspected that his cancer had returned causing him severe pain. After an exam and through tears in her eyes, she talked to her old friend (knowing that he had been totally deaf for over a year, but thought he should have the dignity of hearing her voice just in case) who was nestled on a quilt on the floor as she gave him the tranquilzer and final shot of his long life. He went to sleep peacefully and left this world in my arms, in a room of people who loved and cared for him. When the time comes in the future for the next stray dog to find their way into my home and heart, I will NEVER hesitate for a moment to take them to Allen Animal Hospital for their care, and Dr. Boland in particular. Thank you all for the excellent care given to my beloved companion. more

NEVER again. Take your animals and run the other way. 8/30/2011

I only gave this review one star because there were no minus stars.\r Allen Animal Hospital is the vet we will NEVER go to again. They have several vets, but you can only talk to only one, and they never seem to be in the office. There are many clerks in the front office, but they just can't seem to find the time to wait on people. And to actually talk to the vet that charged $350.00 several weeks earlier.... HA! They are BUSY. Our vet didn't make a note of our conversation about our cat's ears and what she recommended, and when we called back to get the medication she recommended, she didn't remember, and wanted to reinvent the wheel. There were no other customers in there, and there were 3 clerks floating around, but we waited over 30 minutes.\r But most importantly, I didn't feel any feelings or compassion for animals there. \r NEVER again!!! AND this was after calling ahead three days ago to get the medication... they said 'give me an hour', and after an hour I went in and was told I couldn't have it because the vet didn't write it down. She had waited until I got there to actually look at the file, then got huffy with me for asking why she couldn't have told me that over the phone. By the way, today the other clerks told me she was rude because she was 'new'. NEVER!!! more

LOVE THIS VET!!! 7/22/2009

We have a boston terrier that has horrible allergies. We were bringing her to another vet in the area that immediately wanted to run allergy tests on the dog...costing us big $$$$$$. We switched over to Allen Animal Hospital and they are working with us to control the allergy without the huge expense!! Not to mention...we just love the vet tech Marcelle!! =0) more

Allen Animal Hospital is where I brought my cat since 1995 4/26/2008

My cat is 16 years old. I was extremely happy with Dr. Wroblewski's services last Saturday and Tuesday. The cat had live threatening constipation, she saved the cat (no surgery) and I am very grateful. \r Christa\r April 26, 2008 Pros: My cat is alive and healthy. Convenient parking. Spacious. more
