Editorial review from Citysearch 1/18/2013

This place is awesome! I brought in my favorite receiver, a 40 year old Sansui 881, with two specific issues. A loud hum when turned on and the left channel was burned out. I called around before dropping in here and found super long waits at other repair places. Fred's Sound of Music was backed up 6 to 8 weeks and required a higher deposit ($90, WTF!). I was looking to use this receiver in less than 2 weeks and that's exactly what I got from these guys. Fast turn around, good solid work, and I got my tunes back just in time more

Great Repairs (in a Year), Disdainful Customer Service 6/1/2011

I was told my keyboard would be ready in three weeks. It has now been TWO MONTHS. Of course, Randy is a great mechanic. He fixed several of my vintage keyboards ten years ago, and did an excellent job. But this is just ridiculous. And from what Lew742man says, it is not unusual these days. The man needs to start giving much longer time estimates, or stop taking new orders, or hire a another mechanic. I mean, !@#$!. Two MONTHS? And I'm the one who has to call HIM! They should have called ME at three weeks to let me know it would take longer. Then again a few weeks later. That's the way you do desire return business. Ten years ago, I'd have recommended All-Service without hesitation. Not any more. more

HORRIBLE Customer Service on Multiple Occasions 12/20/2010

Horrible customer service on multiple occasions... I dropped off my amp with the expectation of a 3 week wait for the repairs (A simple rebiasing of the tubes that is not very complicated if you have the know-how and the correct instrumentation). After 4 weeks I called in to see what was going on and was told that they were backed up and it would be another week. more

are the real deal 9/7/2010

Professional audio and electronic musical equipment repair. It seems like they have been there forever. When walk in the first thing you'll notice are the piles of audio and musical equipment laying around. The second thing you may notice are all the musician photos on the walls. These guys seem like pros and are the real deal. more

These guys really know their stuff! 8/12/2010

I purchased and assembled a Fender Vibroverb clone kit. When it was all done it had a lot of background hum. \r I took the amp to two other repair shops in town. One of the shops I took it to were supposed to be hot shot tube amp gurus. The other one was according to them the biggest and most experienced in town \r Both shops kept the amp for about 3 weeks, charged me and said they fixed it, but it still had the problem when I got it home. \r I took it back twice to the other shops to let them try to make it right, but they could not figure it out, nor would either one of them refund any of my money! \r Finally on a friends recommendation I took the amp to Allservice, A week and a half later I got the amp back from them and the hum was gone!\r more

Terribly rude and poor service. 8/6/2010

TERRIBLE customer service by the owner, Randy Morgan. I needed a simple diagnosis on my brand new electronic keyboard that won't turn on: is it the power cord or the keyboard? Called ahead of time and spoke with Mr. Mogan, told him Casio recommended I bring my keyboard in to him, explained the situation, got the okay. When I got there, I was told it would be 3 weeks to figure out what was wrong. Why not just plug in the board to one of their own power cords and see in 30 seconds what is wrong? That would be considered a 'rush' order and would cost $35! WHAT? I tried to say I thought there was a miscommunication, that this should really only take a couple of minutes but Mr. Morgan was very rude, interrupted me and said he had too many things he was working on to talk to me any longer and that I should take my business elsewhere. HA! Too busy to spend 3 minutes? I also heard him yelling and swearing on the phone to someone who was a client. He's got a rock loose! more

Left a bad taste 2/23/2010

Took my bass in to find out about the active electronics shorting out. After 6 weeks they said the electronics needed to be replaced to the tune of $150. At the time I had no recourse because I'd already paid the deposit and didn't know anything about anything electronic. Now I know a little, enough to get myself in trouble probably, but the pcb has a total 11 resistors, which don't usually fail, 10 capacitors, which don't usually fail, and one op amp. Even without testing the thing, they could have replaced all the parts in about an hour for the price of a happy meal. Instead I got what I consider a profit making brushoff. Thanks to these guys, I have taken it upon myself to learn how to fix my own stuff. It's like the mechanic who tells you you need a new transmission, when all you really need is a small piece of your transmission repaired. Half-assers! I should have run when I saw that damn sign that says don't call bothering us about your gear. Update Alert! I replaced the active supposed OEM electronics that these guys said they installed in my bass with a fancy aftermarket jobbie because the old one quit working again. Upon closer inspection of the board, I have found a broken trace that was patched with a bit of solder. That patch then broke again. This says to me that I paid for a new board, but they only patched up my old one and sold it to me as new! They have now gone from just having bad customer service to being full-blown liars with bad soldering skills and I'm now going to tell the Better Business Bureau. Thanks again guys for motivating me to learn about electronics! Pros: good location, inspiration to learn electronics Cons: customer service, communication more

SHADY Authorized Warranty Repair facility! 6/1/2009

Wow. All the reviews about this place were indicative of the experience I just had. I cant say for sure but I think they REALLY overcharged me for the repair. I recommend calling Leighton Audio. Jeff is honest and does great work on tube amps. This was a solid state amp that I had them repair because they showed up on the Mfg. Website as an authorized warranty repair shop. I should have read the reviews first and just taken my amp to Jeff Leighton. Avoid All Music. more
