Editorial review from Citysearch 7/16/2012

Look Elsewhere-Could be a nice place but not now.\r \r We arrived at 5:20 PM on Friday July 13, 2012. There was asign on the front door that the office is only open for check-in from 3-5 PM. We saw on our reservation that check-in was from 3 - 5 PM however we never imagined that there would be no-one on property to check you in after 5 PM. Due to unexpected traffic, we were detained from arriving earlier. [Tampa area traffic has surpassed Orlando in being terrible!] We went accross the street to another property owned by the same owner/company(?) and received our key and room #. Upon entering our room we were greeted by the visiting carpenter ants flying around the window and front door. The room appeared nice and clean until later that evening when I noticed my feet were literally black on the bottom from apparantly the dirty carpet. The toilet is almost non-usable as it is placed directly next to the wall and you legs literally are touching the door. You must sit sideways to use the facility. Reaching the paper is almost inpossible as well. I think you are suppose to use the shower for a bidet. The kitchinette is a nice thought although you will need to bring cooking utensils such as tongs, spatchula, etc. There are nice plates, bowls, glasses including wine glasses. The pans are teflon coated and scratched because there are not proper utensils to use. \r The bed was okay and there was 4 pillows to choose from. There is a micro wave and coffee maker however the microwave is on top ofthe refrigerator and the coffe maker's cord is only about 2 and a half feet long and where it is placed cannot be used. We had to move the coffeemaker over to the corner in the front of the room and plug it into an outlet with maker on the floor in order to make morning coffee. No outlet was actually convenient for use with the coffeemaker. The refrigerator was cold and the freezer froze very fast, which we were thankful for.\r \r Now for the reall= problem: Since there is NO MANAGEMENT on property after 5 PM or as we found out on Saturday the 14th, actually after 3:30 PM, the locals no this and will book rooms for parties and literally take over the place. With very limited parking [only enough for the actual guest to have one car] there was cars parked 2 and 3 deep; locals using the lot to go to the beach; visitors to the parties who were not guest; and no management to control the going-ons at the resort. It took over an hour to finally get cars moved and then only after threatening to call police to have cars towed did this occur. There was a sign posted with the city ordinance about illegally parking. \r \r Andfinally, as if the above is not enough, if you are a smoker, then you are in luck. There are chairs outside each unit with a table to sit outside and enjoy the Gulf view and sea breeze. However, if you do not smoke, the smokers will drive you either to the beach or inside your unit. The smoke is as heavy as that in most bars. We were sandwiched in between smokers and only after I resorted to getting a cigar to hold my own were we able to even sit outside and that was really only to an evening offshore storm moving through with a very strong breeze.\r \r Overall, this could be a nice resort to spend some quality time together or with family and friends, however it needs management and personel on site at all times. Due to no personel on site, we ewre not even able to have our towels replaced/refreshed.\r \r Unless they change their attitude, I would recommend finding another resort, this one is just about in shambles. \r more
