The Alero on U Street has a unique menu that differs from the other Alero restaurants in the area. The food is great - from the chips to the entrees to the desserts! I always go for the chicken fajitas which actually come with a lot of vegetables and are delicious! Vegetarians - take note - you can order any of the enchilada dishes without meat. more

I got a taste for mexican food now, so i went exploring for a good restaurant few days ago, i found this one at U st, it got the look of a mexican restaurant and the food was great! I love the dips they give me for the endless supply of free chips. Well, basically, love it, well come back and highly recommended. more

Mexican gourmet 8/14/2005

Alero is a stylish mexican restaurant with an impressive selection of tequila. The decor is very contemporary with a very profound outdoor seating area, plenty of fancy lights and a well dressed staff. The food is mexican with a bit of a california twist on it. The dishes are colorful, the drinks potent, and the service is of the highest quality. The place can be a little expensive for mexican, but the surroundings make it more than worthwhile. They also offer a full sevice bar - of not just tequila - and sometimes have music on the weekends. more
