I had a very bad experience at Millis that left my dog blind. The vets cared about us, but my dog's illness stumped them. The confusion led to unnecessary surgery for what was thought to be a stomach blockage, and my dog woke up from the surgery blind. He actually had meningitis and his inflamed meninges combined with the shock of surgery to his weakened system destroyed his optic nerve. All he needed was Prednisone, but he didn't get it in time. My dog is like a best friend to me and I kick myself all the time for signing his surgery waiver. This happened a year ago and I still wish I could go back in time and reverse it. I would suggest that if you need a diagnosis for your pet, get him straight to a specialist like Veterinary Specialty Services. Otherwise, if you know what your pet needs and want affordable and caring service, Millis is good. A side note...If your pet is battling a mystery ailment, have your vet check for meningitis. My dog saw four vets and only the specialist realized he had all the symptoms of meningitis, which can be very treatable if you don't waste time and catch it ASAP. Pros: Caring staff more

I've been taking my animals to this clinic for thirteen years and each time have received exceptional, caring, and reasonably-priced care. I moved thirty miles away but will continue to use Millis as long as my animals live--and with the great care they receive, I'm sure they'll live long, happy lives. I have used the clinic for over four years for my two cats. They are excellent and care about the animals. I feel confident leaving my loved ones there for surgery as needed. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a new vet. more

Millis has taken care of my three dogs and one cat and have been incredible. Performed ligament surgery on my Ridgeback and she was back running full speed in six weeks (I tore my ACL too and my surgeon was nowhere near as successful). The BEST!!! Pros: Really care about you and your pet and it shows more

They were straight fwd without the B.S. trying to up sell like others in the area. Great place to take your dog/puppy. The cost is reasonable for a family budget. Pros: Great folks. Cons: Best to go North on Hanley to get to it. more

Millis Animal Hospital is the place to rely on for peace of mind for your pet. Doesn't matter much which doctor you get, since all of them are great. Dr. Albrecht just did a major surgery on my Golden Retriever and she's completely recovered and doing wonderful. Pros: great location at I-64 and Hanley, friendly staff more

We have always taken our dogs here. You never need an appt, and even when busy they get you in pretty fast. Very helpful over the phone as well. more
