The AK eatery was fabulous from start to finish! We walked in the door to find a full ice display of fresh Alaskan seafood, including a unfilleted alaskan king salmon and an alaskan King Crab, they were bigger than I imagined! At the display are two wood-fired grills, both were covered in different types of seafood and meats. We spoke with the chefs at the grill, who cut us lamb samples and served it with a mint shishimi dressing. The dining room and bar were full, I failed to make a reservation before hand, but after the lamb sample, we had to see the rest (you can book reservations on Open Table online) We were seated shortly in a dining room, completely redone and decorated with original artwork of different alaskan wild-life. For appitizers, we had the calamari served with a citrus aioli and the buffalo carpacio. The calamari unofficailly raised the bar for the twin cities, it was generously portion with a light crunchy batter including both tubes and tentacles. The Carpacio was served with a tarragon salad and a palmegranet dressing. For dinner we shared a 32oz porterhouse with a lobster tail added. It was the best surf n turf meal i have ever had. It was Mannys steakhouse & the ocean air cafe all in one place. The executive chef came to our table and told us how they prepared the food and the concept followed, it was an experience i'd never seen before. We ordered dessert, which turned out to be an unforgettable experience in itself. A strawberry macoron which our server paired with a nice dessert wine, the flavors complimented each other so well that i recommend anyone to ask their server to pair wines with food items. We went to the bar for an after dinner drink where we found the largest scotch list in town. Over 30 scotch labels and a 275 label wine list! The manager was a encyclopedia for scotch. He told us everything there was to know about the scotch list. I plan on going back on a regular basis, both for business lunch ins and dinner dates. Enjoy!
