Now a high class mall 12/31/2005

Ala Moana is forever expanding and now has become the most expensive and high end mall in the state of Hawaii (well, it has always been high end but even more so now). It is now catering more to the tourist industry as most products the malls sells is no longer affordable to us local people. Luxury stores you will find are Louis Vuitton, Tiffany, Coach, Neiman Marcus, Gucci, etc. Any name brand you want, you'll find it at Ala Moana Shopping Center. more

High End Shopping 12/29/2005

Although this is one of the biggest malls on the island of Oahu, it is geared more towards tourists. With high end designers like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Chanel, Tiffany&Co., Coach, Neiman Marcus and more, the smaller more affordable stores for everyday shopping for the locals are dissapearing. So although the place is good for window shopping, it's not great on the pocket book for spending money. They do have a great International Food Court but seating is tight and on a weekend night, it is busy and we had to wait for seating because the place was packed. You can find Cajun food, Italian Food, Chinese Food, Japanese Food, Mexican Food and so much more. There is even a McDonalds a little walk away if that's how simple you want to go. It's great for the locals to walk around and eat but too expensive for a weekly shopping treat. It is geared more towards tourist have more to spend. more

Shopping Spree Mall!! 10/9/2005

Ala Moana is the biggest mall on the Island of Oahu – the mall has local stuff to high-end brands shops such as Prada, LV, Channel, etc….This is a good place to shop for both locals and tourists because of its variety. It also has Macy’s, Shears, Neumann Marcus department stores. There is a big food court on the ground floor, but this place is not my favorite. It is dark and crowded! You are already in Hawaii, why not enjoy the sun and open space while eating!! When you are done shopping, I recommend to rest your feet at the Honolulu Café! more

Biggest Mall in dowtown area 10/9/2005

Ala Moana Shopping center has the open architectural design. it makes you enjoy the natural fresh air from outside. In addition, the interior design is pretty and also great to stroll through. the bad thing for the open mall is when it's rain, you might get wet while you're shopping. There are many different kind of shops to look at, ranging from generic brands like GAP, Banana Republic, Old Navy, to luxury brands like LV, Prada, Armani, and so on. The mall also has luxury mall called Neiman Marcus at the center of the mall. It's really nice inside. it's good place to walk around while the outside is getting hot. There are a couple of water ponds throughout with large fishes swimming around in it, which adds to the beauty of the center. Ohh.. There is the international food court at the ground floor as well. the food court has a variety of foods. Price is affordable. My favorite food are Yummy Korean BBQ and Thai Chicken Satay with peanut sauce. The center is easily accessible by TheBus. In addition, there are plenty of parking available for you. the Ala Moana Center also provides Free Shuttle from Waikiki as well. Enjoy your shopping! :) more

Contemporary Shopping Center 9/11/2005

Ala Moana has so many shops that you will never get bored there. The shopping center is 3 stories high with a variety of shops and boutiques from shoe stores to women's clothing stores. They have large department stores like Macy's, Sears and Nieman Marcus. You can't miss eating at the food court which offers a wide variety of eating establishments. more
