If you really have no other place to live, go ahead and rent from Affinity Property Management.
I lived at the Broadway Center Apartments at the edge of downtown Eugene, OR. And not the semi-interesting part of downtown either. More like the scary part, next to the freeway on-ramp where all the more aggressive transients hang out.
I had to deal with horrible tenant service (they would avoid you, avoid answering your questions, and avoid fixing problems around the community), criminals barricading themselves in my apartment, rats coming out of toilets, the apartment coming in bad condition (dirty, etc) and the management refused to come look at it, so I had to clean it MYSELF, things stolen from my laundry (the laundry room needs a key to get in, so that's saying something), parts of my bike stolen... this is just the tip of the iceberg people! Don't forget animal feces ALL over the community.
A friend of mine also currently lives there and had to wait about two months for a check for referring me, and did not even get the full amount.
Bottom line, don't rent from them.
