Having had multiple room heating and air issues since I bought the house, a friend of mine suggested calling Advent Air Conditioning and having them look at the original installation and offer me a plan and an estimate if appropriate. The sent out a consultant who spent 3 to 4 hours in the attic and on a computer HVAC modeling system. Turned out the original installation was poorly implemented. The team who came out to solve my problem was knowledgeable, informative, and left no mess when the job was completed. I was very pleased with Advent, my electric bill is smaller, and my house is much more comfortable. I would definitely recommend Advent if you are having any Heating or Air Conditioning problems. Tammy, I wanted to thank you and Advent for the professional job you did on selling and installing a new heater and AC unit in my home.\r Jeff was very professional in explaining the process and what was needed for the project. After I made the decision to have both installed ( I was leaning toward just having the AC unit replaced) he told me that I had made the best decision to do both and that it would improve my investment in my home. I could tell that he was happy I made the right decision.\r Miguel and his assistant Omar did a great job. When they finished Miguel walked me through everything that he had done. I could tell that he was very proud of his work and he encouraged me to get the extended warranty on the labor so that the unit he worked so masterfully to install to perfection was properly taken care of. Dishonest and unethical company 2/9/2014

Dishonest company and employees. The sold me a used and damaged AC unit when I paid for a new one. I tried to fix the issue with the bank but Advent altered the documentation to make it look that I agreed to buy a new one. \r Very unprofessional and unethical company. Don't buy from them. They also forged documentation for the City of Denton. \r \r The dishonest and unprofessional employees are are Jeff Sutherland and Dan Leising. Don't trust this people, they will lie to you and cheat you just to make the sale. more

Have used Advent for the past 13 years. Have been very pleased with the personable service of our technician Chris. Have had two new units installed a few years ago and as a result, have experienced considerable savings in our energy bills. Highly recommend this company. more

I had the absolute worst service possible from this company. My coil was leaking, so decided to purchase a new one and get it installed by Advent Air. The technician shows up and tells me the coil is not the problem, and that a valve was to blame. He replaced the valve and added coolant. A few months later the A/C unit is, again, not working properly. The same technician that replaced the valve shows up. He finds a "bent valve" on the condenser and condemns it. He says he cannot do anything to fix the issue, and that everything else looked fine. My only option was to purchase a new condenser. I called another company for a second opinion. They found that the coolant level was actually low and found a leak in the coil. They added coolant and the system started working great. I spoke with Jason, one of the managers at Advent, about my service. Not only did he take MONTHS to respond to me, even though I sent a weekly reminder that my issue was never responded to, but he never acknowledged that his technician did anything wrong. The best he could do was to refund the cost of the second service call. Really? That was the BEST you could do? I did some research on my own, found that my coil was notorious for leaking, and was actually under recall. I was able to have the entire coil replaced for free! Why didn't Advent ever offer this for me, or even advise me about the recall? There is no way I could recommend this company to anyone. They did not fix the original problem, they did not back their work, they do not respond to complaints, and the technician obviously tried to scam me out of money for his own commission. more

Responsive, prompt and reliable. 4/4/2013

Advent installed four systems in our new home in 2000. Over the years several have been changed out for newer models. While maintaining systems is, admittedly, not cheap, it's well worth the cost in knowing your installer is nearby and familiar with your needs. Advent has always responded promptly and cheerfully, honoring its maintenance contract, and giving advice over the phone and in person. Their entire staff, from office to field, has served us well. more

Awesome service 12/13/2012

I was sufficiently impressed on a service call to go ahead and invest in a maintenance plan. James was a great guy, and did a great job. About 4 months later Advent had a great follow up on scheduling my planned maintenance. James came out again, spent about 1.5 hours here, came down with a professional report, and then told me that he had noticed my water heater leaking. He saved me a ton of money - my water heater is in the attic and a catastrophic failure would have cost me well into 4 digits. Definitely would recommend. Stellar service, stellar followup. The first is easy, the latter is hard. more

We've been using Advent Air conditioning for almost 30 years and have always had great service. We recently had a whole new system installed and it's been wonderful!! Our bills are lower and our house is much more comfortable!!!! more

Nine years ago Advent removed a substandard HVAC system from our home and installed a two step system. At the same time we subscribed to Advent's annual inspection and maintenance plan. Our family has almost tripled, our HVAC has been challenged by scorching Texas summers, winter cold snaps, and packed gatherings. Thru it all our system has kept our home within a 3 degree temperature range, ideal humidity, and almost dust free. Our HVAC has performed so well, with care from Advent, that we rarely think of it. Now, isn't that what every home owner wants, a comfortable solution? more

Poor Business Service 8/4/2012

We have used Advent before and they did a good job of getting our AC up and running and waived the service call. However, our AC went out the night before we called. We called at 8am and was told the tech would be out after lunch, called back later and was told that it would be after dinner time. They finally arrived at our house at 8:40pm...We knew the blow motor was out and of course that was confirmed. However, the price they charged for the motor was twice what it normally cost and then they wanted to charge a part aquisition fee of 88.00 on top of the 400.00 and something part and still charge us the 80.00 for the service call. Plus they said they would not be able to get the part in until Monday. Which meant that it would be sometime Monday night..The temps have been around 104-107. My husband knew enough that the motor was not worth what they wanted to charge. Needless to say found a place that for all the parts that we needed came to a whopping 203.00 not the 400 and something. Our total to fix our own AC 203, their charge was over 500.00..When companies feel that they can mark up the price that much and still charge the other fees, that is time to look for a more honest place. Will never use them again. In regards to the estimate that our service technician provided, Advent Air installs many OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts, which CAN be ordered off the Internet and installed by many handy consumers. But of course, D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself) jobs never account for ones own labor, including the time spent researching, ordering and installing the parts, to say nothing about the installation being done correctly. We are happy to hear that you were able to find the part you needed to repair your own HVAC system. We have been in business since 1981 (31 years) and employ seasoned professional technicians, who have been factory-trained, and whose education and expertise set them apart from many of our competitors. Outstanding customer service and honest, up-front, no-surprise pricing are two very important philosophies we live by on a daily basis. Tech sent to house was rude 4/7/2012

Told after paying 120$ that they would have a consultant call because I needed a new system that was suppose to be under warranty. But they won't warranty because it still works What! I will go out of my way to tell everyone I know what a bunch of --/ this company And there so called warranty is all about every place I can find to write a review and bbb more

Great Service, Great Price 2/12/2012

As promised, since Advent installed our new AC / Heating unit our utility bills have been cut in half. Their servicemen were friendly, on time, and cleaned up after themselves. The charges were very reasonable. The service policy & unit was explained and has paid for itself. We will continue to use Advent. Our son also used Advent to install new unit in older 2 story home with great reduction in utility bills. Great Service. Will continue to go to Advent for quality service. more

Advent customer service is the best. Professionals who really care about their work product and their customers. After installation of new heating / air conditioner system our utility bill dropped over $200. a month. Now that is great news. A breath of fresh air! 8/3/2011

We cannot thank Ryan Clifford enough for sending Matt Sprague to our rescue after a very bad experience with another not so honest HVAC company. We have always called in Advent for our HVAC needs and service and they are ( gratefully ) the company that installed our systems when we built our custom home 12 years ago. We have always had awesome service and "honesty above reproach " from Advent as some companies out there advertise but sadly, do not always practice. One of our AC units quit working and we decided to do our due diligence and get 3 quotes since this was most likely going to be a costly replacement. We had been told last year by our Advent technician that the system was such a good one that it COULD last for up to 20 years so we were hopeful ....... The first HVAC company sent a technician out and after a few minutes he told us that the condenser was shot and needed to be replaced along with a new coil ( the old one would apparently not match the new condenser ) to the tune of somewhere between $6000 and $7000 depending on what level we chose to replace with. Next, Ryan Clifford from Advent came on the scene ..... what a breath of fresh air ! Not only is he good at his sales job but recommended that their technician come out just to be certain that it all needed to be replaced. He said something just didn't seem right and called Donna ( Thanks Donna ! ) who immediately scheduled the very efficient Matt Sprague to come out the next afternoon. Ryan went ahead and worked up a professional and DETAILED quote ...... much less $ than the previous company technician who just handed us a piece of paper with mostly dollar figures and very little else scrawled on it. No details about type of equipment, etc. we would be getting with this system and for this exorbitant amount ? Also, upon further evaluation and checking, we found that the first HVAC company was not even authorized to replace with the same excellent brand that Advent had installed when we built. ( even though he said he could ) Long story short ...... Matt Sprague actually showed up the next morning ( we didn't have to wait all day ! ) and within about 15 minutes time found the faulty $700 part that needed to be replaced !! We are extremely grateful and commend Advent for hiring professionals such as Ryan and Matt that are truly honest. Advent is wise to hire and fortunate to have on their team employees such as these ...... and it goes without saying that we won't be getting any other quotes in the future. Advent Air Conditioning has excellent service. They're very good, and I recommend them. The guy who came out gave me a price told me all what he had to do to give me a price. He had to check my unit and all the ductwork and stuff. He spent a good two hours checking it all out, measuring and taking heat loads, which impressed me compared to a couple of other people I had out briefly who were just looking to replace the unit. He wrote down everything and told me that the ductwork, insulation, and everything was sufficient. He then showed me the unit he chose, and I decided to have the heater changed out also, which made it a matched set. The two guys did it all in one day. It took them twelve hours, but it was all just in one day, and I think they did an excellent job. They did everything they said they were going to do in the contract, and they even came back and checked the ductwork, making sure there was good airflow. They extended some lines, and made some repairs in the end. They did an excellent job. The unit and everything is running right now, and it has kept the house warm when I need it, and cool when I need it. more

I think that Advent Air Conditioning, Inc. is excellent! Basically, I have three air conditioners in my house that have needed maintenance and replacing over the past years. I've used other people to do these things in an attempt to save a little money, and they have just ended up causing me a lot of trouble and costing me so much more to fix the issues they caused! I called Advent, which I should have done for the very first one! They came in and were so efficient. They were so far above in the quality of work when compared to the others I had worked with previously. Almost immediately I trusted that they knew exactly what they were doing. I can sleep well now, knowing there's no problems in the work that Advent's done. Also, it's good knowing that I can personally call Advent directly and they'll know who I am. Yes, overall, it has been more expensive, but it's been well worth the cost! Jill Hawkins more

From start to finish, the installation that Advent did was very, very pleasant. The two gentleman that came out could not have been nicer. They explained everything to me, and the guys who came to do the job were very nice too, and they did it quickly. I had called about a problem with my furnace, and within 30 minutes the technician called me saying he would be here in a couple of hours. He did come, and he spent quite a bit of time here, trying to figure out what the problem was (it turned out to be something with the wiring). Advent is the only company that has ever worked on my air conditioning and heat. Of course, the reason I've had them work on it all these 13 years, back when we first got the system, was their service. It was not a good system, but every time I called they treated me very nicely, and very courteously. They people they had come out and analyze the problems helped me immensely, so I'm very satisfied with them. I really feel that I have gotten this good of service because I had all those checks.
