Good: The workers were friendly and mostly professional. Work was mostly done within schedule.. Bad: They didn't have all permits before work started
Kept finding more work needed to be "to code" costing us 1/3 more than our budget
Communications were terrible - if we didn't call, we didn't know what was going on
Kept failing inspections
Work was supposed to have been finished at end of October - now it's Jan, we're still trying to get them to come out and fix what needs to be fixed so we can pass inspection
Some of the work looks amateurish at best
Broke our basemment toilet but continued to use it. Improvements: Better communications
Actually knowing what code is BEFORE estimating a job, and knowing what permits are needed. They would have taken shortcuts that would have caused us trouble down the road when it comes time to sell the house
Better attention to detail - the door trim reaches the floor in some areas, in others there's a 1/4 inch gap - sometimes on the same door
And again, better communication. Other: We started out liking this company. They seemed to know about codes and permits. I don't know if then they just decided to try to slip it over on us, but turns out they knew very little.
Did I mention the communication is terrible? Twice we were told they would not be there on a certain day, only to have them show up.
There was a problem with one of our checks, caused by them, and then we weren't informed when it was fixed.
