Editorial review from Citysearch 3/12/2013

Good morning, \r \r In response to 1 of the 3 individual post on this site, it may be important for the people of Portland to read the following non-bias information. In need of a significant amount of storage space, a quick research on a unnamed search engine resulted in finding Acme Storage Inc. Now let me tell everyone what happened after moving a deceased relatives entire household into Acme. While returning from an out of town business trip, the plane was drifting closer and closer to PDX. Seated by a window, it was easy to recognize some of the local areas including Acme Storage. Speaking the words out loud, ""there's my storage unit"", a fellow traveler started in with questions. They were just curious about acquiring storage for themselves. So after delivering the answers to their questions, they may have taken my advice. Talking from the boarding area to the baggage claim, I mentioned my experiences with all aspects of business, customer service, and quality control. Without hesitation, my strongest recommendation to utilize this storage company, why? The no hazel, pleasant smile, and incredible scenery impressed me the most. What is disturbing, is how any person could take the time and write a vague, grammar challenged, misspelled, demeaning, self driven, and direct attack about people who clearly do not fit the profile they mentioned is beyond me. When I read this posting, it was so impacting that I wrote it down in my journal to respond as I have done today. Unlike 1 of 3 already mentioned, it is my opinion the everyone truly considers the adage, ""There's always two sides to every story"". \r \r Thank you for taking the time to read this message,\r \r Critical Thinker\r \r P.S. Citysearch, is there any way to remove the 1 of 3 tip mentioned, I really believe allowing for your site to post this without filtering is discrediting tor the great service your company provides. Just an after thought, thank you again. more

This business is no longer managed by 5/6/2012

This business is no longer managed by the original owner *bob*! So listen up people, as a result, current manager Jennifer Wilkins, has systematically poisoned this once respected storage facility. Here are a few examples either experienced directly or witnessed first hand of the alarming customer service business practices demonstrated by Acme Storage. First,As a customer prepare to experience verbal attacks publicly and without provocation. Jennifer is known for on site off business hours verbal harrassment followed by an irrational declaration statement and refusal to discuss further episodes. Secondly, the rules will change at her discretion and your tenant rights will fluctuate with her mood, causing unneccessary stress, headaches, and anxiety. Thirdly, they advertise 24 hour access. Ha that's a hoot once again at her discretion subject to change and with out explanation written and presented. The maintenance person,, Tracy, will invade what little privacy you have by sneaking around and spying on you around building corners. He will lie to management and. Directly to your face. As for maintenance he is a landscaper at best. The restroom facilities will be locked and unavailable at a management whim. Your rental doesn't include over head lighting. I experienced no lighting for 11 consecutive days with out explanation. Jennifer lives onsite and by her irrational actions is obviously driven by her emotions and not a clear business sense. Being void of rutementary business practices leaves the customer in the lerch and potentially victimized. They will come off friendly and warm but it is merely a smoke screen for horrific mind boggling behaviors. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. If this seems biased ask to speak to some tenants before signing a contract and you will hear first hand from others. more

I keep my RV at Acme, and after having 3/16/2012

I keep my RV at Acme, and after having shopped around, I was very happy to find a storage facility close to home that felt like a friendly, professional business. This is NOT some old converted lumber yard or previous used car lot. Acme is purpose built to be a storage facility and they know what they're doing. 64 cameras on the property, keypad gate entry and other security makes me feel safe and lets me rest easy storing my RV here. I have a lot invested in this RV, and I didn't want to leave it just anywhere. Bob, the older gentleman that lives on-site (behind the fence), is just great. Everyone else that I've dealt with in the office is a delight as well. For safe, secure, fairly-priced storage right next to I-205, Ikea and the airport, you can't beat Acme. more

Great customer service, clean and high security, great place 3/31/2011

I wrote this review because when we purchased our new travel trailer, we checked out well over fifteen storage facilities to find a spot for it. We were looking for ease of access, gate hours, but above all, we wanted great customer service since most of the places had very similar prices, facilities, and access. We found the service we were looking for at Acme. It is a family run business, with them living on site. Bob is a hoot and Jennifer was friendly, honest, and cordial. They worked hard to find a spot that would fit our trailer and kept to their price they had quoted a few days earlier. Their sercurity is top notch--they have motion sensor cameras, punch in codes in and out of the facility, and cameras that take pictures of license plates on entrance and exit. Gate access is also 24 hours, where every other place we looked at was 6 or 7am to 9 or 10pm. Having visited almost every storage place on the east side, we can safely say that most of them offer similar spots, spot layout, and prices, so the only way to distinguish them is the customer service you will get, vital for when there is ever a problem. And that is why we went with Acme, for their great access to 205 and beyond, just pricing, clean and wide-open facilities, but overall, a family atmosphere where we know they will take care of us. Highly recommend. more
