DO NOT RENT FROM THEM THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY After having the worst experience ever with this car company I came online to see how others had been treated. I am appalled to see that they have essentially pulled the same scam before. I cannot believe they are still in business. As has previously been described here, this company requires a $300 refundable deposit which they say will be reimbursed to you. After more than 3 weeks, numerous phone calls (with unhelpful, rude and indifferent employees) we have yet to receive a refund. I would encourage anyone who has been scammed by this company to complain to the Better Business Bureau. These people need to be put out of business. more

The worst car rental experience ever! 3/24/2011

DO NOT RENT FROM AT ANY TIME. This agency is involved in an insidious practice--they place a $300 ""hold"" on your credit card when you get there--and they claim that they will refund it when you return. In reality, they pretended to refund it and then charged an EXTRA $300--on top of the already $300--so that you have an additional $600 on your credit card. When you call them, they claim that they can't help you--the person on the other end of the line pretends that it is the Credit Card Company that made the mistake. This seems like a common complaint--as far as I can tell, I am not the first one to make it, so it's pretty clear they are trying to get away with this. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM AT ANY TIME. more

Don't waste your breath, aggravation, or money 11/15/2010

Why can't I give them NEGATIVE stars?????? Early in October I reserved a Chevrolet Cobal from ACE Rent a Car for 4 days (10/13/10 - 10/17/10) at a daily rate of $14.97 with an estimated rental price of $77.59. Upon getting to the Four Points LAX hotel, I was informed by the agent that there were no more cars available. Imagine my surprise – I reserved a car and yet there was none! I felt like I was being pranked or in a Seinfeld episode. The agent gave me the option of either renting their last car (a couple of classes up) for $25 per day or the shuttle driver could take me to another car rental agency (where they had already ‘reserved’ a car for me) and they would reimburse me the difference. I would pay the money up front and I would send my receipt to the corporate office for reimbursement. I initially sent a fax to both the corporate fax number (Emili – 714.635.4350) and Four Points fax number (310-689-2340) on October 19, 2010 requesting reimbursement. I had to pay $140.18 through Fox Car Rental. After about two weeks, I called both numbers provided (310.689.2330 & Ali Patel: 714-855-2555), and left a message after getting their answering machine during working hours requesting information on where my reimbursement money was. On November 8, 2010, I called yet again after receiving no call back. When I finally got an agent, and started to discuss my dilemma, I was hung up on. I now turn to the BBB for assistance in receiving my promised difference of $62.59. more

Stay away from them 9/11/2009

I rent a car from its SFO location. \r \r First, they are not located in rental car center at the airport, nor do they have a shuttle running from there. In stead, you have to wait for the holiday inn express shuttles that run every 20 mins. \r \r Secondly, these guys don't take care of their the cars. I got a car that was full of scratches with a broken tail light. And it had trouble to start when engine is cold. It worries me a lot that as it would break down at any minute.\r \r Third, the lady behind the counter got a bad attitude. She screamed at us when I complained about the car. She also refused to help us as we were running late even they have a van for customer pick-up/drop-off. Reason, it's not their fault that I am late.\r \r Last, international travelers, be aware that they charge almost $10/day for out-of-country driver license. If you add these up, they are really not cheap!\r Cons: remote location, bad cars, bad services, hidden charges more

Don't walk, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!! 5/12/2009

you must take an unreliable Holiday Inn Shuttle and then either run across the incredibly busy Century Blvd or wait forever to have Ace come and pick you up and drive you 300 feet to the filthy counter where the inept staff will attempt to help you. They then tried to trick me and other people into believing they MUST take their insurance (see YELP for a review of someone who did, got in an accident and got screwed). Once I was taken to the car (one hour later!) it was damaged on every panel - HUGE DENTS!!!! Filthy interior, sounded as if it were about ready to throw a rod and the tank was on EMPTY!!!! I told the attendant as he was circling the exterior issues of the car on the check out sheet that he should just circle the entire car and he said normally he does!!! I said there was no way I could take that car, waited another 45 minutes for a Sentra. When I went to fill the tank up it failed to register full and they tried to charge me for bringing it in with less than a full tank. I told them we would be taking a trip together to the gas station so I could prove to them the tank was in fact full and they opted not to charge me extra. Another man was returning his car and his experience was evidently as horrible as mine as I learned on our trip back to the airport via the Holiday Inn Shuttle. I'm telling everyone who is thinking about renting here - DON'T WALK - RUN!!!!! Pros: NONE - ABSOLUTELY NONE Cons: EVERYTHING - SEE DETAILS more

even worse than worst experience ever! 9/11/2006

Last year I was stopped at a stop light when a car rented from Ace Rent A Car crashed into me from behind. The guy was great- jumped out of his car to make sure I was ok and immediately said, ""it was my fault."" Which makes sense, since he was the only car moving. He had bought the extra insurance through Ace and was sure everything would be fine. It is a year later and I have not been reimbursed for anything. It sounds like they took his money for the insurance, but then didn't bond him. The people at Ace have not answered my calls or letters in months. Stay away from these guys! Pros: none! Cons: terrible customer service, HIGHLY questionable insurance more

The worst experience ever! 5/9/2006

The price was good for the car if you put the service aside! But that has a value too, correct? I had a very bad experience; they create rules and very impolite customer service at the location. I didn't rent a car from them at the end. If you want to rent a car from them be prepare to submit a copy of your lease agreement, utility bill, ..... I think they want to get you to their location with low price and then add other stuff to make up for their low price. Cons: Bad Service, Rude, Not Honest more
