Beware of doing business with Ace Air! 7/6/2011

2.5 years ago a tech came out to look at my 2 year old Trane unit. They replaced the motor and sold me on a Preventive Maintenance program so they come out once per year to check the unit & do a tune up until 2015. 5/14/11 they came out because the unit stopped working. The tech said the motor was toast & fan blades damaged. He said (not knowing that their company had just been out months before) that whoever worked on the unit last was responsible for what happened because they moved the wires for the motor over so that the fan blades were hitting them. This caused serious damage & burn to the fan blades & it's what caused the motor to go out. The last person to touch that unit was the tech from Ace Air that came out to do the preventative maintenance a few months ago! Then they try charging me $968 for the new motor & fan blades. 1st of all my motor was under warranty since they just replaced it 2.5 years ago & 2nd of all they're telling me that their tech that came out a few months ago is the reason anything happened to the unit. It took an hour & a half of the tech going back & forth with the office just to try & resolve it. They tried to ignore everything that my Preventive Maintenance contract promises (lifetime warranty on parts replaced, 20% off of new parts, & labor rates) which is what took so long. I ended up paying an agreed price for fan blades & labor. When they called to schedule the time to replace the fan blades we discussed what the tech said. After calling the tech they came back & told me they would not charge me for the fan blades (which I had already paid for on 5/14). I called a couple A/C companies to my home to evaluate my hail damaged a/c unit. The guys at Ace were very professional and made the experience hassle free. I will refer Ace to all my friends and family. Tom was very professional. Thank you again. more

Customer for life!!! 6/20/2011

It is with great pleasure that I am writing Ace Air this afternoon. I have been without AC for almost two days. uncomfortable and concerned, my phone call to Ace Air on Monday June 20, a representative scheduled an appoinment for a service for my A/C. The technician arrived within an hour and provided me professional and accurate assessment of the A/C situation. John greeted me with the utmost respect and professional courteousness. He was extremely knowledgeable with the accuracy to alleviate the discomfort. He took pride in his work while equally providing me with an outstanding customer experience. I would recommend Ace Air to anyone!!! Thank you for providing such an outstanding customer experience and know that your effort to find and retain human assets such as John is exceedingly well received by your customer base. more

Do Not Use 5/4/2011

We have had 5 appointments with Ace set up, and out of those 5 they only showed up to 1. It was the 1st appointment and they had come over for a diagnostic review that they had on special. Well, my husband was the one at home with them and the guy ended up charging us double the amount that was initially quoted to me. Now, when I called they did apologize and sent a check back to me for the overcharge, which is why we decided to call them again when we had this new problem. Big mistake. They had asked that we call them if they weren't there during their scheduled time, and when we did they acted as if they had no idea what we were talking about. They apologized and asked to reschedule, but come on.....4 times and you can't do it right?!?!?! We are taking our business elsewhere. It's not worth the hassle to get them out to look at your unit. more

dishonesty to elderly- the worst company 4/13/2011

My grandmother who has Alzheimer's called Ace for the ad of 19.95 tune up, the air has been working fine. They came out didnt perform the tune up but began to tell her that she needed all kinds of new parts. This really gets to me because this is a new unit that was just installed. My brother who owns his own AC company had arrived into town and noticed that her AC had been disconnected, so she wouldnt be able to use if she needed to. We then called Ace and complained and said that they left things taken apart. The manager called back and said that the tech didnt touch anything that he was the best tech, that she needed alot of things done. First of all if you didnt touch anything how do you determine what needs to be fixed. I am very upset that they did this and the manager basically said that my brother that has been in the AC business for 16 years was lying. I am floored that they would even take advantage of the elderly. My grandmother obviously should have called me if she had questions but granted she isnt in her best state of mind. I cant even believe that a person yet a company would allow this kind of behavior. How do you sleep at night! more

Think Twice 4/10/2011

Ace air sent 4 techs to install a new unit in my house. Now I'm not accusing anyone but after they left there was $6000.00 worth of jewelry missing. Oh yeah someone went through my underwear drawer. Yuk!! more

Hooked up expensive new part incorrectly! 3/26/2011

Although they made my heatpump work, I feel I was overcharged for the condensor fan motor, which was actually not installed correctly with improper wiring and wrong run capacitor, causing the heatpump to frequently cycle out of heating to cooling during cold weather. How would I know? By hiring someone who was qualified! On top of lousy workmanship, they first tried to sell me a new unit, then after the expensive but lousy job, they trid to sell a warranty plan which shouldn't be necessary if they knew how to do the work! Don't waste your money with this outfit. Check out the NR rating at BBB and all the complaints they have. more

Best A/C Repair Company in Phoenix 1/16/2011

Ace Air is an excellent company! I had a/c issues recently and needed a new compressor. The technician was very knowledgeable & even arrived on time which was a plus. The prices are also reasonable compared to other company's. I would recommend this company to everyone. Keep up the great work. more

Ace Air did a fantastic job for me I called the office believe her name was Becky, she told me she would have a guy out between10-2. This was at 9:30 tech showed up at 10:00 fixed my unit I was thrilled to have cold air after a long hot night. The tech worked fairly quickly. I really appreciate the fast service for my repair. Best A/C company in the valley! 3/3/2010

I recommend highly! Ace Air came out to my house today for an appointment to look at my a/c for a tune-up. They called ahead of time, as arranged, and was actually early in arrival. What a treasure! I'm sorry we were not able to give him any business, as what he did was to say, yes, this a/c is in fine shape, and should continue giving good service for quite a few years. Mom had been given the run-around by another company, saying that her a/c was cracked, and I *thought* it was a fairy tale, but of course we needed a second opinion. Which Mr. bunsick gave, very quickly and professionally. If and when I need a/c work in the future, this is where I'll be calling! They rock....? Pros: honest and reliable! more

Slow to respond 7/1/2008

Contracted with Ace to install a Carrier unit. Showed up on Friday with a Bryant. Tried to convice me was just as good as a Carrier. I insisted on what was in my contract. This meant no A/C on a very warm weekend until Monday because they had already pulled my old unit off. Granted they did offer to put the Bryant up and then change it out but I felt like they would not be back to do that. It took forever to get the rebate paperwork from them for the Carrier Rebate and especially the SRP Rebate. They ran out. Gee, don't you think that it is summer and you are in the AC business....stock up. At the very lease print one off the internet . The person who sold me the unit told me it was a 15 seer, my invoice says 15 seer but when they filled out the SRP form it became 14.5 seer which is a significant amount less for the rebate. They did agree to cut me a check for the amount but then decided to apply it towards the Respicare air filter they were going to install last Friday. The guy came out around 10:30 am, made numerous phone calls, looked very confused at the paperwork with the unit and after about 2 hours said it was taking longer than it should and he would have to leave and someone would call me to reschedule. He also said it was because there was a crane scheduled at another job for people who had no airconditioning so that was more important than my scheduled work. If I told my customers that there were more important customers than them I think that I wouldn't have a whole lot of those customers left. So here I am with the work half done and I have called Ace 3 times and it is Tuesday at 11:30 am and no one can be bothered to return my call. My only regret is calling Ace Air for the 1/2 price AC tuneup offered by SRP. Now I am stuck with them for the 5 year service contract that I received with the unit. I am sure that if I do have any problems it will be days, possibly weeks before anyone returns my call. So lesson learned choose your AC company wisely. Pros: The person who sold me the unit was very personable, prompt. Down hill from there. Cons: Poor follow up, Do not return calls. more
