Worst

As a member since club opened I can say service and staff is way down! I would say the last two years have been the worst, no employees on the floor, most around desk talking.

Pissed Member 9/9/2014

Expensive. No extra space to work out on main floor. Removed normal guest work out areas for "group training" that you have to pay extra to use. Out of shape trainers that are horrible at showing proper form. Rude trainers. And last but not least kettle bells that have a chain and lock on them. more

Horrible Customer service 10/1/2012

Acac has horrible customer service. Definitely not worth the money. They are a team of sales men that get members to join and sign their one year contract. Once you are a member, it's all downhill. I guarantee the 5 star reviews are written by acac employees. more

not worth the money 5/8/2012

I used to be a member there but have recently left. The kids area is getting way too crowded and being run by people who can not keep an eye on all of the kids. Plus the management there seems to have a pretty big ego and do not really care about it's members or have any passon on improving the place. The kids area looks nice but go there on a weekend and watch the employees watching(or lack there of) the kids and you will see; very unsafe. more

Very Disappointed- My 5 year old broke his arm 4/30/2012

Family membership at ACAC is relatively expensive, but we thought the cost well worth it for the kids to be in a fun/stimulating environment. We averaged going maybe 2 times a week. When my 5 year old broke his wrist on a bouncer, we discovered that children were not able to be seen, and not supervised when inside some of the bouncers. One or two attendants work at the front of the room, and can look back to see inside some bouncers, but not others and not behind or around where some kids go. We found that unacceptable since we are talking about 3-5 year olds. We have terminated our membership. more

Good Quality 5/19/2011

I had been a member at ACAC for a long time, then decided to give the others a chance and joined the YMCA when they opened, but after about a year, I went back. There were a few friends/people who tried other clubs for a while to see what's out there and almost all of them ended up going back like me. I'm not very athletic, I just exercise 2-3 times a week to stay healthy and I think they offer a friendly atmosphere for people like me. I'd love to go to a club that's cheaper, I wish they only charged $25 a month, but I know this is far fetched from reality. So I've come to the conclusion that if you want a clean, family-friendly environment, I'm willing to pay the extra 10 bucks per month. I've tried almost all the other fitness facilities in the area over time and I just think that when it comes to customer satisfaction these guys try their best to please the customer. I don't know about other people's experience, but I've always been greeted with big smiles, everyone starts calling you by your name once you start going regularly to the club and they're all very helpful. And a few comments I put on their surveys that they send out every year and someone even contacted me by phone to resolve my problem! I would recommend this club to people who value quality and think that it's worth it to pay a little extra for it. more

Terrible club 4/8/2011

(1) Children's Fun Night is a joke. First, the club told us that we can sign up for 1 children's fun night for free every month. But, I was never able to sign up for one. Every time I tried. I was told that the dates I picked were full. They won't let us try to sign up until the 1st of the previous month (for example, you cannot sign up for any dates in April until March 1st). But, when it gets to the 1st of the month, every date you would pick would be full. I even tried calling to sign up in the morning of the 1st of April to sign up for a Friday in May. It simply did not work. All the Fridays in May were full. You are talking about all filled up in a matter of several hours. OK. The Children's Fun Night is very popular. So, why wouldn't the club expand this program to allow more kids to participate? Looks like the club is only interested in getting the money from the members but is not willing to spend a little more to expand the program that has a lot of demand. Second, I asked the kids who could successfully sign up. (You know, those who have parents who could afford the time hanging there and know the staffs there.) They all told me that they did nothing in the Children's Fun Night. So, looks like ACAC is not doing any thing good for these kids. (2) This club never has enough parking space. Again another sign of that the club only wants to get the money from the members but never wants to invest a little money to improve the environment for the members. (3) The club never has enough shower rooms for the families. It only has 2 family shower rooms. Very often, you have to wait there with your kids feeling cold. (4) A lot of the lockers do not work. How could we keep our stuffs safe? These are just a few of many problem this club has. I can continue but I think I do not want to irritate myself with talking about ACAC anymore. more

poor lifeguarding 11/29/2010

/watch your children at the acac pools. Lifeguards do not pay attention. My daughter was floundering and i had to prompt them to jump in. They said, "she didnt go under yet." My daughter can swim but the pool slide has a huge current and kids get disoriented. Thank gosh i watch my kids closely. more

Something for everyone! 9/8/2010

My family loves acac because it has something for everyone. My kids love the childcare, inflatables and spider mountain. My husband loves the weights and pools for lap swimming. I love the variety of group exercise classes, especially yoga. Plus, it's our summer pool, my day spa and has a cafe where we can eat. Definitely worth the money! more

Good 8/10/2010

There are many classes to chose from. Many of the instructors were top notch. Beginning of the year, the New Year Resolution joiners, overcrowded the gym. Too many promotions from Jan to March. Classes became crowded. The fee is too high. It is a good family gym if you can afford it. Sure beats the YMCA and other gyms I've tried! more

Waste or money 5/12/2010

The fee is ridiculously expensive, but their service level is very low. There are few nice stuff, but most of them are not helpful. What made me angry was they could not inform the crucial information from one staff to another. So I ended up to explain the story again and again. I will never go back there! more

Great Fitness Center 11/4/2009

I have been a member for 3 years and really like this fitness center. The staff is friendly and the equipment is top notch. I belonged to a couple of other gyms and even the YMCA and found that those places were crowded and lacked good equipment. ACAC is also a place for the whole family. As a parent you drop your child off to their kid center and then go and enjoy your workout. There has been many times I would not have been able to exercise if it hadn't been for their Kid Center. The membership is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. A great fitness center that has something for everyone. more

To Much for to Little 8/7/2009

There are no employees to help you ! The trainers will walk by you even if there are weights on your chest ! Classes are to full and then if you are new you are lost. The outside pool [extra] has second rate chairs and no one to help there either. If you ask a life guard the say maintenance and ask maintenance they say life guard and ask management it’s were getting around to it. One of the “fitness” persons was just a house framer now a fitness expert. more

ACAC is a shopping mall which just wants to make a buck. 7/12/2006

All they are trying to do is make money off of people and they do not service the members to the best of their ability. The staff they hire in every department is well underqualified especially in the aquatics department and fitness department. They also treat their employees horrible. I have never heard of such a place with a turnover rate such as their's. They have everything to offer you but they do nothing really well. They are like a Mercedes dealership selling Pintos. more

Workout! 1/17/2006

ACAC is located off of Route 202 in West Chester. This is a beautiful gym and sports complex and is worth the expensive price tag if you take advantage of all it has to offer. They have indoor and outdoor pools, fabulous workout facilities and much more. There are many things to take advantage of, but if you are just going to work out, you can probably find just as good gym facilities for a more affordable price. more

Great Gym - If You Go 8/4/2005

This gym costs a fortune. I'm not going to lie. It's really quite ridiculous. That said, they gym is AWESOME. Had I gone more often, I am sure I would have thought the membership dues were well worth it. The gym is huge. I never had to wait for a treadmill or elliptical machine, regardless of time of day. They offer a ton of classes for free, and they are scheduled at various times throughout the week so you can most likely fit the classes you want to take into your schedule. When I joined a couple of years ago, they gave me a coupon book for some things throughout the gym - a few of which were free sessions with a trainer. I met with her and she set me up on a weight training program. They have filing cabinets where you can keep your workout record. Trainers are always around the weights & machines to help you and make sure you are using the equipment properly. They also have a great indoor pool. I'm not much of a swimmer, so I didn't use it. I think they have a pool outside too, and a whole water park that's new. They also have a day-spa and a whole area for kids. They also have a cafe. A book club that meets monthly. You name it - they probably have it. There's so much to this gym (it's actually a wellness center) that I was dumb and didn't take advantage of when I was a member! That's really the thing - if you GO and use the membership for all its worth, it really probably is worth the high price. more
