Terrible 10/14/2011

This place is disgusting. I think the review before me politely highlighted the main issue with this place---management. I would like to add two thoughts to this. First---the costumes are marked up significantly. You can find better deals (with honest reputable merchants) online. Secondly--the store is an utter and complete mess. If you're in sales---I don't think having trampled costumes, boas, wigs, and (yes I did see this with my own eyes) adult toys lying all over the floor is a great business practice for a place that sells to everyone (not just adults). I would think twice before giving them your hard earned money. more

The worst -- dishonest, overpriced 10/23/2010

Spent $90 today and thought it didn't seem right so went through my receipt when I got home and realized they double charged me for the most expensive item I bought and cleverly tagged it as two separate categories -- hat and accessory. Spoke with Robert, one of the owners and after condescending ""honey"" remarks it was obvious that he wasn't going to own up to the fraud and dishonesty that reigns at the store e.g. went down the block to Spirit Halloween after for shockingly half price and nice attitiude. He told me I could come back in -- which is not near where I live -- why so he can tell me I took something out of the bag. STAY AWAY HE IS SCARY!! more

Bad Company Policies 10/11/2009

We are from out of state and went there expecting the same respect for customers as we get back home. This did not happen. The managers policy is to buy something first, then try it on and maybe we'll give you a credit to try something else if you don't like what you bought. They blamed it on a city wide policy, but the best of us know better. After relying on human decency we bought two costumes. One was really, really lousy. Even after an exchange of accessories they boked, but repeated critisism of the store policies allowed us to leave with some decent product and absolute knowledge that we would never return. Buyer beware!!! The staff is great, the owner and manager are sub human... Despite their ""policy"", open those packages and check the product. It's better to be thrown out of the store than waste money on a bad product. In the end we went back home to another costume store, met with very nice managers and employees, were able to try on the costumes before we paid for them and walked out very happy. Forget this place unless they become more customer friendly.... Boo! Pros: Great Selection of Costumes Cons: They can easily RIP You Off more

Better Service Then Halloween Adventure! 10/20/2008

This place has a great selection in coustumes ,props, accesories and wigs. I like the friendly Staff workers and the cleacence sales. I recomends this place to everyone. Kids will enjoy it and you will to. Their coustume policy is reasonable, and staff members give you their opinion on coustumes, even when you try them. Pros: Costume Policy more

Great Selection, Extremely overpriced 10/29/2007

The store does have a huge selection of costumes and props. Every costume I looked at was priced at least $20 more than the exact same costume - same brand, same style - both at other costume stores and on the internet. There is just no reason to pay this store's higher prices. It's not like the costumes they offer are any better made than other costume stores - a costume they're trying to charge $75 for had the button hanging off, loose threads, cheaply made material. Pros: Good variety Cons: Pricing is a complete rip off, can't try on costumes/can't exchange size more

Avoid at all costs 12/19/2006

Mean, mean people. I recently bought a cape and top hat for my nephew. After a discussion with my sister, I realized the costume was too big. I knew this place did not have a return policy, so I called to find out if they had an exchange policy. The man who answered was not only chewing and slurping while on the phone, but also did not understand my question. When I explained further that the package was unopened, that the costume was just too darn big, and that I just wanted a smaller size, he said, ""Nope, you can't do that."" I don't know how people like this manage to stay in business. I am now out a considerable sum of money for an overpriced cape and top hat. Merry Christmas to the scrooges at Abracadabra. Cons: everything more

High prices, surly service 10/29/2006

They do have beautiful costumes here if you are looking for something decadent. But, the prices are obnoxiously high (~$175/costume for the ones downstairs), and the staff - especially the owner - are downright jerks. Be careful to read the rules - you MUST return your costume on one of three dates (god forbid, you return it beforehand, you are charged 25%), you must pay a hefty deposit, etc. I was shocked at the brutish behavior of the owner and his henchmen. Very sketchy business... I would not go back. The only reason to go here is if you're looking for a very elaborate costume that you can't find at the other Halloween stores. Otherwise, stay far away. Pros: Elaborate costumes Cons: High price, obnoxious service more

New Owners lower prices 6/19/2006

Try on here, buy on the internet 11/1/2004

They offer every costume but a three times the price. That's ridiculous. And there's no return policy. Try on here, but buy the exact same thing on the internet. more
