I don't have a car. I live around the corner from Abe's and pass by it every day on my way to work.
Today, I had a problem where someone's car and a Snap-On truck were completely blocking the sidewalk and driveway, to the point that there was no way for a pedestrian to get through. When I asked if it could be moved, one of the mechanics told me to go in and talk to Abe. After going in and standing around for a few minutes, I was finally acknowledged and then promptly dismissed. He told me that it wasn't his truck, so he didn't care.
I would think that as the owner he would have some say in whether or not delivery trucks blocked access to everything around his shop, but I guess that's too much to ask. I took him to be a moron since he couldn't even manage delivery drivers and let him know this as I was leaving, and he proceeded to run after me, screaming at the top of his lungs, and threatening me. He got right in my face and was waving some brochure inches away from my nose, obviously trying to start a fight. He called me several names, most of which I couldn't even understand, and told me to watch out "in case I really get mad." I didn't take the bait, which seemed to only piss him off more.
When he realized he wasn't going me to do something stupid he yelled for me to get off his property, which I turned to do, then he decided he wanted to try and taunt me some more by yelling "Yeah, you better walk away," despite the fact that I was on a bike. I stopped and turned to him without saying anything, and he proceeded to threaten me some more, trying to goad me to get back on his property and fight him.
I eventually got bored with his screaming and went on my way.
I have never been more disgusted at the behavior of someone who is supposed to be an adult. I don't know what kind of world he's used to living in, but yelling and chasing after people who raise a complaint about your establishment doesn't exactly scream "professionalism".
