I have been taking my two persian kitties for grooming there for about three years now. They have always done a very good job, very friendly and clean place. They also have better prices than most big name pet stores. I have been very happy with them and highly recommend them. Pros: Quick appointments more

I have been taking my dogs to ABC doggy daycare for a year now. I know my dogs are being cared for cause the staff always greets them by name and my dogs are always so excited they nearly rip my arm off getting to the girls. I would never take them anywhere else. I would miss ABC just as much as my dogs so check them out they have new grass in back yards and for raining days they have a indoor outdoor daycare area that is great too! ABC Pet Resort and Spa is so devoted to being Only the best, Employees work 7days a week serving clients and thier pets needs. Therefore as an independent professional trainer, I encourage all my clients to drop by anytime for a tour of the facility. No appointments needed! Come watch this place in full action on any normal day! You will be wowed!! Step into a kennel that is immaculate. I have been in many in Houston kennels . Non compare!. The kennel staff appears much like an ant mound. Constantly on the move cleaning, feeding, and pottying the dogs. I have had many clients who use A.B.C. for boarding while training . I hear only positive comments .Do take a tour ; unannounced. Let your nose tell you about the cleanliness . And stop a member of the kennel staff and ask any questions and you will see just how friendly and helpful they are. I'm proud to say that I do dog training at ABC. As the owner of ABC, I want to assure our customers, and potential customers, that our policy for reimbursements for health issues that arise during or after boarding has never wavered for the six years we have been offering this program. If the pet's problem is not a pre-existing health issue, we always reimburse the customer per our contract. We don't second guess their veterinarian's opinion - and we never argue or ignore a customer's problem. We are proud to have this policy in place, and will continue to handle any issues with sincerity and concern for the pet. We were not aware of anyone in November being denied a reimbursement; which makes me believe that that posting on CitySearch was fraudulent. If the owner will call me directly at ABC, we will take care of the problem immediately. I had no need to board my dog since moving to Houston until recently. A friend recommended ABC Pet Resort to me and told me when her dog first boarded they would send home a cute picture of your dog and a report card so I decided to give them a try. When I came to pick up my dachsund they told me she did great but no sign of a picture or report card (no big deal though). Shortly into the drive home she had very watery stools and stunk up my whole car and got some on the seats. I figured it was normal and it was just an unfamiliar routine that was making her sick however it continued for days. I decided to give them a call to see if they had noticed anything. They didn't have much to say (like they didn't remember her at all) and didn't seem concerned at all. I decided to take her to the vet and they gave me some medicine to help treat the watery stools. I called ABC again about it and they said they woudln't offer me anything because there was no evidence that they caused it and said it could of been a pre-existing condition. My dog has had watery stools before occasionally but never like this (w/blood too). I know it was something from the kennel and didn't like that they were denying it. That is the first and last time I will board my dachsund there. Pros: The "idea" of the whole resort theme is nice Cons: Bad customer service (manager), sick dog more

My adopted "Mom" visited this facility to see if the environment was good for me & my brother, Duke about 2 months ago. She reported back the kennel/boarding area was not clean, smelled of urine. It did have a nice big back yard to play in, staff seemed friendly, but main concern was cleanliness. The time of her visit was 11am on a weekday and the kennels hadn't been cleaned yet. She doesn't think that is healthy. The prices / services seemed to be fair "Mom" reported. "Mom" is still on the hunt for a good animal hospital that has a clean, friendly, loving environment that is near our home. My name is Rebecca and I work at ABC Pet Resort and Spa. I love my job and have formed wonderful friendships with my fellow staff and management. Recently, there was a not so favorable review posted by someone who no longer works at ABC for whatever reasons. We have had a few employees who have left us due to the fact that we "clean too much" in their words to be exact. more

Somehow, I don't believe some of the previous bad reviews. Some of them use similar language and yes, while it is easy to fluff up your rating with good reviews from employees, it is just as easy to smear a reputation and bring down ratings with bad reviews written by disgruntled employees and employees of rival kennels. I am a current client of ABC and have no plans to change that fact. My dog receives excellent care when she is boarded. She is always clean, well-fed, and happy when I pick her up. If there is ever a medical emergency, I trust the staff at ABC to make the correct decisions. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and kind and Suzanne is a doll. I have toured the facility a few times and have not found any evidence of mistreatment of animals. Everything was sparkling clean and spit-spot. Anyway, I say go and see for yourself. In fact, go to any other kennel to compare notes. I bet you'll find ABC has the edge and deserves your business. Pros: Cleanliness, Knowledgeable staff Cons: None yet more

My dog and I love ABC! I brought my older lab in and they took such good care of her. They gave my dog personal attention and l loved the rocking chair time with my dog. The staff was courteous and always friendly and nice. Before I picked her up, they gave her a bath and de-shedded her and now she smells great and the my house is no longer full of dog hair. I will definitely bring her back to ABC. Pros: nice staff, clean, awesome vip suites, cool store in front Cons: a little far for me to drive but worth it more

ABC Pet Resort is a great kennel. I have never had any problems dropping off my pet for them to take care of for long periods of time. All employees love the animals like they were their own. I highly recommend this kennel to anyone needed to board their pet. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable about dropping off one of your "family members". The owner will make arrangements to your needs as well as your pets. I have been going there for many years, and I have never had a problem. In fact, it has been a pleasant experience for both my pet and me! more

I would not recommend putting your dog in ABC's "Doggie Daycare". It is an outdoor daycare facility - basically a fenced yard filled with dust and dirt that gets in the dogs ears and lungs and can (and has) caused health problems. Dogs overheat very easily when they are outside all day, and ABC doesn't always have air-conditioned kennels available for the daycare dogs during busy times (they reserve indoor kennels for boarding guests). During these busy times, daycare dogs usually end up in a hot garage in wire crates during the mid day break and before they are picked up at the end of the day. It is pure luck that a dog has not died from heat exhaustion yet! Also, dogs that become ill are forced to board alone in the filthy garage in a wire crate. The facility boasts about being ABKA accredited, but rarely adhere to the strict ABKA guidelines. Accreditation is basically meaningless, since ABKA never enforces or inspects anything. The treatment of the daycare dogs is just one of the unethical ways that ABC has proven to me that money - not your pet's well-being - is top priority. My pets are my children! The caregivers, front office, and grooming folks truly love my 3 dogs. Maggie,my oldest, has been staying with ABC for 12 years now. She's a bit frail, blind and deaf, but somehow she knows where she is and is happily energized the moment we walk in the door and everyone comes to greet us. They monitor and record every time they are fed, given treats or medicine, and even when they go potty. At one stay, Maggie (a finicky eater) wouldn't eat unless it had peanut butter on it. No one batted an eye when I told them they had to put it on her food to get her to eat. One girl sat on the floor of the run for 45 minutes, covered in peanut butter up to her elbows, until Maggie ate every bite of her food - she did not loose weight while she was there! My other two run in the door and down the hall toward the door to the kennel - without even giving me a goodbye glance. They come home and sleep for a day 'cause they had such fun. Used to work here, but the employee treatment by management and an indifferent business owner is awful. Smoke breaks are a priority over walking/feeding your dogs. Dogs are frequently walked through clouds of smoke. Kennel is not properly disinfected (use of hot water alone is considered efficient!!!). The cattery goes some days without be cleaned. Cat sicknesses go undetected as the cattery is virtually ignored throughout the day. There are a few decent, caring employees there, but they aren't there all the time and there aren't enough of them for me to ever place my trust in that kennel's care. The other unfortunate fact is that there is a high turnover - all those good employees don't stay long due to verbal abuse from management and a business owner who doesn't care. Having been employed there, I know too much about its day to day operations to ever put any stock into empty claims of "ABKA accredited". It's politics as the owner used to be ABKA President. I honestly don't know if I will ever be able to trust my pets care to any kennel in the future because of this place! Pros: None. Cons: Profit is top priority - usually at the pet's expense more

My dogs absolutely love going to doggie daycare at ABC. The staff really worked hard to acclimate my dogs to the daycare. They were patient and extremely friendly. They are so tired at the end of the day that they sleep until the next time they go back for daycare. more

Very friendly and helpful staff. Willing to answer any and all questions that I may have. My lab goes there at least once a week for Daycare and she can't wait to get in the door and get to playing! I highly recommend them! more

I had to board my cat, Josephine, in order to go out of town unexpectedly. She is an extremely anxious cat, and I was very worried about leaving her. ABC gave me no reason to worry! They took excellent care of her and all her finicky needs! I would not hesitate to use ABC in the future to help me with Josephine! more

I have been using ABC Pet Resort & Spa for many years. I have always had good experiences from boarding dogs and cats to puppy training. My animals have always come back clean and happy. They also are not afraid to go inside when we get to the doors of the resort. The facility is very clean and the opportunities of fun and play offered to the animals is amazing. My youngest dog (who is now 1 1/2 years old) completed the puppy training courses at ABC, which were wonderful. The ideas for training really did work and the staff helping out were absolutely kind and professional. The next puppy I get will certainly attend the training courses at ABC as well. As we plan vacations this summer, we know that our animals will be taken care of and they will have a great time. Pros: kind, professional staff more
