We pleasantly rented a nice Jeep from this company on our way to a skiing trip in Vermont. Half way to our destination, our trip took a horrendous state as we tried to clean the window with fluid, only to realize that regular water had been placed in the tank, freezing the whole system and making it totally unusable.
This is neither Florida nor Arizona we are talking about, and come January, temperatures usually drop below freezing level, a fact that any rental company should be aware of.
Driving with hardly any visibility at all, (keeping a stable 15MPH to prevent more unpleasant stuff) it cost us more than an extra 5 hours of driving time as well as a good deal of effort to de-ice the entire system and put antifreeze fluid.
We are not bragging about a $2.95 bottle of liquid, however the fact that the company denied any responsibility and furthermore accused us of a windshield crack that already had been there when we got the car makes the whole story even worse.
We believe that the real integrity of a company reveals itself at times like this, when faced with a very very simple glitch that may render a whole trip unpleasant and cause its clients great discomfort. And when the afore mentioned company vehemently denies any responsibility and tries to seize the moment to come on top of its customers, a simple $2.95 bottle may cost hundred folds of lost business in future dealings. Sad, but true.
Do we hate this company? No.
Overall, are we satisfied with the whole service? Somewhat yes.
Our problem: Facing further claims against us and a not-so-pleasant attitude when things go undesired.
Pros: Nice car
Cons: Lack of desire to take responsibility
