A Plus installed my ac unit five years ago. I will not allow this company out to my home again. Every AC company that has been out to look at it since says crummy sloppy install. We have had three major repairs and the wiring redone. This is a bad install that just keeps on giving with followup repairs. Greg was very polite when he came to do quote on the initial install. After the paperwork was signed it was another story. I complained about rock wedged under slab to make level to BBB. Greg called me and was extremely rude. But I do think about the company every time I have a huge repair bill. The one I am currently dealing with will be $1800.00 on a 5 yr old unit. more

It was over twenty years between visits but we turned again to A-Plus over the summer when the drain pan in our twenty plus year old Lennox HVAC finally rusted through and started leaking. But with the same total care and service that we were treated to back in 1990 it will be difficult to share with you just how thrilled we were with the service we were provided this summer.\r \r It started with the original service call when we first noticed the leak having developed. After doing all we could to trouble shoot the problem ourselves we turned to the professionals who made every attempt at diagnosing the exact problem as to just simply advising us to replace a unit who's time had certainly come. We were able to make an informed decision. \r \r A day or so later when we met at the house with Greg, the company owner, we were amazed at his sense of detail from our installation so many years ago. Sloppy work, poor service, total rip off 4/21/2011

I had a new HVAC system installed 7 years ago and it never really cooled the place. Today we are remodeling the house and discover that the system was installed terrible. The pipe that carries the cool air into the house was bent 90 degrees crimping the cool air into the house. After more investigation we discover what a slop job they did. I bought the annual AC heater check up and they basically come to the house and do nothing. After one check up the heater suddenly stopped working. They claimed it was not their fault but I bitched so much they finally came out and fixed it. Then they tried to charge me for the visit to fix the heater they broke. I refused, Take you business elsewhere and save yourself the time, money and frustration of working with these folk. more


I called these people about my Mother's AC and they treated me like I was going to rip them off because I was calling from another location. After assuring them she would pay all charges before they left, they showed up and my mom said they were rude, messy and the house never did get cool even though the AC ran all night. The next day I called another company and they charged half what this company did and it's still working fine. There is no point in talking to the owner either. Leave these people alone, more

A-Plus A/C came to my house to resolve an issues with my cooling and heating. They quickly and efficiently identified the source of the problem and same day resolved the issues. Technicians were very professional, and cost was extremely fair. Another company guessed at a cost over 2x higher on a very similar proposal, A-Plus did the same work for half and the system now works. Highly recommended! more

Fast, professional, friendly company 8/10/2008

Our 19-year-old AC system completely kicked the bucket (compressor died) on a Sunday afternoon in early June. We had had Strand Bros out the night before to clear the lines when we noticed water in the garage, so we called them again. We also picked 2 more companies out of the Yellow Pages, including A-plus, and left messages. Strand did make it out that evening, which is when we got the bad news. The soonest they could get a sales rep out would have been Monday after 3 PM, and they could not tell us how soon after that we'd get a new system. We made a date with them anyway, and left messages with the other 2 companies to cancel. Meanwhile, the house was rapidly becoming an oven. By 9 PM we were debating whether to pack up ourselves and our three dogs and head for the hills (MIL's house in Pflugerville), when A-plus called (even though we'd cancelled) just to doublecheck that everything was under control. The owner told us he could be at our home by 7:30 the next morning and, if a new system was needed, we could likely get it the next day. He showed up at 7:30 on the dot on Monday morning, checked everything out, verified the system was DOA, and discussed our options. We elected to buy a Lennox system with the weatherization pkg, since we already knew we had almost no insulation left in the attic of our 45-year-old home. Naturally it wasn't cheap, but the price was less (by several thousand dollars) than what Strand quoted us for a similar system. The technicians, Gilbert and Esteban, arrived 1 1/2 hours later and were absolutely great, very friendly and professional. They had the system up and running by 2 PM. So all in all, we went less than 24 hours without AC. With the new system & new insulation, our house stays wonderfully cool w/ the thermostat set at 79-80?, and it kicks on a lot less often than before, even in the past month of 100? days. We would recommend this company to everyone! As a plus, Debbie and the office staff are super friendly & helpful. Oveer pricing 2/29/2008

LOST A CUSTOMER I had a spark ignition module changed on a honeywell heater. A+ charged $320 for a part that cost $180 from distributors. I was told that included labor and taxes. this after a $55 diagnosis charge, with all work done on the first call. It took the tech maybe 20 minutes to replace the module. Module is on the outside and readily accessible. A total of $375. I will never use these guys again. more


A-plus made two trips to my home for duct repair estimates. I was initially told that they did not charge for estimates. During the first visit the owner looked at what needed to be done, told me it was hard to say how much the price would be until they began work but estimated between $200-400 dollars, then told me a technician could be out the next Wed. I had a meeting that morning and requested that he arrive on Wed. afternoon. The very nice technician told me that he was told to charge $500 and in confidence recommended that I call another company because that price was ridiculously high. He left to get materials and I made other calls and was quoted $150 from another company. When I called to cancel the owner questioned my ethics, basically told me the technician had been waiting for me all morning to return home (not true the technician told me he was at another job), and told me I owed $120 for the two estimate visits. No work had been done. He also questioned my ethics and basically said I took advantage of them by canceling the work request. He was ridiculously rude and I refused to pay for anything. PLEASE GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY!!!! Cons: RUDE owner, three times higher quote then another company, will charge you on a whim more

Good service 5/17/2007

The air from our AC has been getting warmer and warmer for the past year. We finally decided to call someone and picked A Plus. They showed up quickly and correctly diagnosed the problem as a faulty Schrader valve. They replaced the valve, and recharged the freon for a fair price. The repair guy was friendly and knowledgable and didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. Highly recommended! more

When I needed to purchase a new air conditioning system for my house, this was the only estimator that arrived on time. He quoted the lowest price. I was very pleased with the work.     Zoning of two-level homes that have only one air conditioning system is a challenge that A-Plus excels in resolving.
