...this was a shampooing. It was not the cleaning I hoped it would be. A young kid did the job (about a half hour late, but I think he may have tried to call and let me know), and first I asked him if they move couches or what their policy is. He said that they move couches over, but not tables. I wanted my carpets cleaned around my tables, so I moved them myself. Later, when he realized that we had a pretty good sized couch in one room, he said that he was just going to go around it instead of moving it. Fine, whatever kid. Just hurry up.
He went through and spot treated the carpet with a solution (spraying the spots heavily), and they went back over the entire carpet with the same solution. Then he basically did a shampooing. They didn't use anything to suck up the product and water that they put down. Yes, their technique seems to have gotten rid of stains and the smell from a few pet accidents around the house, but knowing that all that product and water (and diluted dog pee) is still in there kind of grosses me out.
It will hold me over until next year when we do it again, but I think next time, I'll use something like Zero Rez or a steam treatment. I just want all the gunk in my carpet taken away, not watered down. That being said, it did remove stains and they haven't resurfaced yet, so if a shampooing is what you're looking for, I wouldn't tell you not to give them a try.
