Roger saved my hair! He is not only an incredible color expert but also a true professional - passionate about his work and honest to his clients. Last fall, I came to him for a consultation after a hair salon completely ruined my hair. The color I came in with was black dyed over cherry red (both colors I NEVER intended on having). When I came in to AR Hair Salon all I wanted was a quick fix. But instead of trying to fix my hair on the spot (like all the other salons would do), Roger explained to me my options in a very calm and soothing manner. His theory is all about positive change and making the best of what you have to working with. One thing I can tell you is that he really did make it work! At this point I've been his client for a year now more

Roger is an incredible stylist and a great person. He listens to what you have in mind and then creates something even better than you could have ever imagined. He fixed the brassy color in my hair I was unhappy about . I felt so comfortable because he knew what he was doing. It came out great! I love the way it is now! I am a costumer in this salon for more than 5 years, Roger did my hair for my graduation, he did my hair on my wedding day, on my birthdays. The salon never forgets about my birthdays, they always send me a birhtday card with coupons and make me feel special. When I am there I enjoy talking with my stylist, and I never want to read a book during highlights. I am always there, and I am always pleased and never unsatisfied. My hair looked decent, but I've had cheaper, nicer cuts and way higher end salons. The second time I went, I was their first appointment of the day. I showed up at exactly the appointed time. The storefront was still closed. I had to wait for the staff to arrive. I was getting pretty displeased with the lack of professionalism, but my wedding was coming up, and I didn't want to find a new salon at that point. I made an appointment for the cut and color before my wedding, which was my third appointment with them. I showed up to my third appointment. I was told I was early. There had been a scheduling mistake, and they asked me to sit through another person's haircut. I did that. I was assured Roger would make it quick. An hour later, another person walked in. I was asked to wait just a little while longer while she was served. I had it. I walked out, and never came back. For the price, the service is ridiculously unprofessional. I never really thought that this salon is rated on City Search until recently. To think I?ve been going to AR Hair Salon for a couple of years now. And I always get my hair done with a few of stylists in the salon, because everyone is great there. The salon is conveniently located for me. Its on my way to work, so I never feel any pressure when I go there. more

I've been going to AR Salon for the last couple of years and ALWAYS work with Michael. He gives the best haircut I've ever had. He knows a lot of great techniques and gives a great precision men's haircut. The staff is extremely friendly and fun to be around. If you're looking for a great deal, a high quality haircut, and a couple of good laughs, this is the place to be! Pros: great haircut, great prices more

I read all these great reviews and made an appointment with Roger. I needed hair color and a cut. I picked out the color from a chart but what I received was very different. Instead of the dark blond highlights I selected I got this reddish orange color , and then he told then to cover up his mistake that the color selected would not have worked on my hair(even though I had had that color many times before). When it came to the cut I asked for some long layers. For reasons unknown to me Roger started putting all these different length layers and lots of texture in my hair. I had great hair that did not need any texturizing. I have pieces of hair next to each other that with inches of difference in length. This is not at all what I asked for, he just started cutting away doing his own thing and was very arrogant about the whole thing Apparently. he thinks he is far more talented then he actually is. After the cut was finished both sides of my head had completely different haircuts. The whole experience ran me almost $400 without tip and my hair could not be worn down for months. I definetely DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. It was a horrible experience. I would like to know who is really responsible for writing all these good reviews. Cons: didnt get anything right more

I've lived in NYC for 20 years and over the first decade, I tried lots of different hairstylists. Some of them were talented but I never really found a person who offered the consistent high quality I wanted at a fair price until I started going to Roger. He's an amazing stylist - truly gifted at his craft - always delivers a great cut whether we are going with a consistent look or trying something new. I feel with haircuts ""the proof is in the pudding"" - I feel great after he's done his thing and always seem to get compliments the ensuing days. The terrific environment brings my haircut experience to a whole different level. It's pretty awesome to not have to deal with all the craziness of those other places. Check this guy out - it will end your search for the right stylist. Pros: Great Professional support, comforting enviorment, wonderful faculty......................
