My children have attended A Child's Way 2/7/2012

My children have attended A Child's Way preschool and kindergarten for two years now. They began in the 3's class, and it was fantastic. The teachers are wonderful with the kids. They are warm and encouraging and they have helped my children gain confidence and enthusiasm for learning. Their approach for teaching problem solving skills is wonderful, as well, and it comes through at home as well as in the classroom. My children are now in the 4's class and we have been thrilled with this new year at A Child's Way. I wish I had known about their wonderful 2's program, because we would have done that as well. This is a great gift to give your children...a start at such a supportive and community oriented school, allowing them to be children, have fun and learn and showing them how wonderful learning can be! I am so happy with A Child's Way and recommend it to others in a heart beat! more

I am very happy with a Child's Way 1/6/2012

I am very happy with a Child's Way where I have two kids currently enrolled. They are very different, but are both having their needs met by the school. The 2's with parent program is amazing! My daughter's language development has exploded since the fall when she started (I totally disagree with the reviewer who didn't find the meeting time helpful--it's are great for my daughter AND me). My son is thriving in his 4's class too. more

Not For Active Children 4/24/2011

I have been so disappointed in ACW. Was in the two's class (parent participation required). First of all, the so called parent's meeting (to introduce children to separation from parent & to educate parent) turned into a forum for the teacher to talk about herself and her experience raising kids in the 70s (and how she knows more than we do). No organization, lots of complaints. It changed for a month and has since returned to being all about her. Secondly, after almost a year, the teachers have yet to call all the student's by name if they are not wearing a name tag. Finally, for all their talk of kindness and distraction to teach children positive behaviors, they fail miserably with high energy children and guilt the parent into leaving by suggesting their child has attention deficit disorder instead of educating ACW staff on age and gender appropriate behaviors and how to work with those. So if you have a calm child, ACW could be the place for you. However, beware if your child has any amount of energy, independence or gumption. more

Excellent, Caring Play Based School - your child will thrive 1/13/2009

I've now experienced 8 teachers with 2 boys who couldn't be more different if they tried. One is withdrawn or ""slow to warm"" and the other is in training to be a politician. \r \r I haven't had a disappointing teacher yet. Sure, some 'got' my boys more than others, but all have helped them grow and become better humans. The withdrawn one has THRIVED there. Can now enter social situations much better. Can handle conflicts with soooo much more confidence. I've had a great experience there and I think my kids would go 7 days a week if I let them. Pros: Teachers, Directors, Facility Cons: Only goes to Kindergarten more

Wonderful play-based preschool 1/13/2009

This is our family's 5th year at Child's Way (2 children going through), and we couldn't have asked for a better preschool and kindergarten experience. Curriculum is play-based, and it's astonishing to watch ""academic"" knowledge, such as reading and math skills, emerge from seemingly out of nowhere. My kindergartner is clearly doing multiplication without knowing it, for example. Teachers are caring, nurturing, and kind. Classrooms and outdoor spaces are stimulating and thoughtfully designed. Early childhood classes, such as 2s and pre-2s, offer great learning for parents, too. Pros: Teachers, curriculum/philosophy, facilities (great playground) more

Could be more supportive of parents and kids that are different 9/12/2008

Not recommended for children with speech or communication difficulties, or highly active, spirited children (especially boys). Parent/teacher/staff interaction has sometimes been inconsiderate and rude. Pros: Great facility. Some wonderful teachers Cons: Some inability to communicate with parents in a caring manner more
