A Bridal World has beautiful gowns... 4/22/2014

I could not have asked for a better dress shopping experience than the one that I had at A Bridal World. I planned to get my dress from David’s Bridal, but figured I would go to a few smaller salons just to see what was out there. A Bridal World was the first salon I went to and they blew me away. Everything was so civilized and elegant. I was the only bride in the salon and I walked around pointing at every dress that I wanted to try one while my bridal attendant put them in my dressing room. I ended up trying on 12 dresses and picked the first one I tried on. Additionally, the seamstresses are EXCEPTIONAL. My dress fit like a glove before we even made alterations (due to a lot of experience), but the seamstress turned my dress from beautiful into PERFECTION. I didn't love the sweetheart neckline so they actually changed it for me. I also added a monogram (as my something blue) in the underside of the dress. Overall, an amazing experience and I will definitely recommend. more

AWFUL!!!!I My daughter had an appointment with them to try on dresses. Her, my sister and mother were first to arrive and the first thing they said they were not impressed with the salesperson. I came with my other sister and three nieces and the first statement from the salesperson mouth was we do not have room for all of you and only three people can go in and see her in the dresses she is trying on. That did not sit well with me being the mother of the bride. \r For my daughter we decided to stay and look at the dresses the problem was we were told only three people could look at the dress, do not touch, do not open the bags, do not take them off the rack, the ones you want to try on put a ring on those 3 (only given 3 rings that was the limit). Her and her cousins went back to look at them while we waited in the foyer. Three other women walked in while we were there and the salesperson said ""Excuse me, where are you going?"" she asked them three times the next time she waved her arms and said it even more rudely for them to remove themselves from looking at the gowns until she could tell them the RULES. \r An other employee came in right after that and she told her ""Its about time you get back I am busy and she needs to get busy too"". WOW!\r I text my daughter and told her to send one of her cousins back so I could come back there with her. I told her this is not how it should be, it should be a pleasant experience and if it was OK with her we would go someone else. My mother and sister had already gone to the car before this because they did not want to listen to the salesperson yelling and being rude. She agreed to leave and I took her three rings laid them on the desk and walked out. No one even tried to stop us or ask us why.\r My personal opinion is if you want to be treated like trash this is the place for you. There are to many other places that will treat the bride to be like a queen. more

HORRIBLE. Stay very far away. Bridal consultant is fidgety and has no clue what shes doing. She ripped a dress while trying to pull it on me and then wanted me to tell the manager it was my fault so she wouldnt get written up. They then demanded that I pay for the dress repair? Dresses are cheap and poorly made, not to mention the ""bridal shop"" is combined with a thrift store and the employees are VERY rude and bark orders at customers. more

Don't waste your time!! Had an aweful experience! We went to a bridal world to look for bridesmaids dresses because according to their website, they have tons of dresses. When we arrived, what appeared to be the owner told us to look through two books and write down the style numbers of the ones we liked. After about 30 mins, which consumed half of our appointment, a consultant walked in. We told her that we had written down the numbers of the dresses and she looked at us and said ""What?? We only carry a few gowns from those books."" So after looking at the limited selection of dresses on the racks, we were yelled at for taking the dresses off the rack. We were supposed to ""tag"" them, but no one told us. My bridesmaid was completely embarrassed when the consultant tried to squeeze her into a size 2 dress and then got fabric stuck in the zipper. When that consultant asked another consultant for a hand, she blamed my bridesmaid for getting the zipper stuck. After driving over an hour to this appointment, only two dresses were tried on and we were out of time. I was completely disgusted with a bridal world, as I said before, please don't waste your time!! more

Mixed Reviews Proved Me Wrong 4/8/2012

I was looking for a prom dress and there are many stores but they don't have the right prices. I was looking for a dress under $100 dollars, I thought it was impossible...A Bridal World proved me wrong. I had looked at reviews about it and had seen how mixed they were, I was worried it was going to be a bad experience so I dismissed it the first time. Just yesterday my mom brought up A Bridal World and she told me that we didn't have to make an appointment up until a certain time, that walk-ins were welcome until 3:00 something. So I went. A lady explained to me that we could only pick three dresses at a time and to flip them out on the rack so she would know. They had a sale and I was happy with the prices I saw. When I had picked my three dresses, my mom had to sign a paper and I had to sanitize my hands with a wipe. Neither of which bothered me. The lady that worked with me was nice and she was blunt, like a lot of southern people. I didn't mind that either. I found the perfect dress for me yesterday and I would say that this is a great place to find a unique dress for a good price. My dress was 40% off. :) I got my dress for $94 and some odd cents. I'm happy with my purchase and the service given. more

A difficult place to do business with 4/2/2012

First off, let me say that I have been to 6 different places to try on wedding gowns so this review is based on an experienced bride-to-be. My visit to A Bridal World was about a month ago, I didn't complain at the time because at that point, this was only my second place that I had tried on gowns at so I wan't sure if my my thoughts were justified. But now I am sure that I would not recommend this shop to ANY bride-to-be. Problem #1-it's a combined store with a consignment shop so you do not get undivided attention, you get to ""share"" the help with anyone/anybody that comes into the store. Problem #2-before you can try on anything you have to register (which isn't a bad thing) but you also have to sign a waiver to not take photos. WHAT?? Every other place I went allowed and encouraged photos. Problem #3-you had to sanitize your hands. WHAT again?!? Problem #4-Following the sanitation, you are sqeezed into a plywood box of a dressing room with a sheet style curtain that faces the front doors. So...when the help is passing you your dress, you are on display for all to see (this isn't a huge deal for me because I am not that modest but for some this could be a problem). Problem #5- my next frustration arose when I had to wait in between dresses for the lady to re-pack the dress back into it's plastic bag BEFORE she would even entertain the idea of giving me another dress. OK...whose time are we wasting here? Problem #6-once you get your dress on...you are taken to the back of the store to stand on your podium to view your beautiful self in an amazing dress. BUT you cannot relax because all of your belongings (i.e. purse) are right up front in the path of all consumers (e.g. poor design). I left there feeling very frustrated. Now let's bring ourselves to today's date. I called the store because I found a dress online that I liked, it is made by a certain designer and the designers website indicated that A Bridal World carried thier dresses. So I call, with a style number. Again to be frustrated!! The girl who answered said that ""they could not tell me if they had the dress because thier inventory number may be different than the style # found online. That they have ""private label"" dresses that cannot be found online"". OK, i understand that, but what about the designer dress that I want to know if you have and what it retails for at your store. The girl...""Well, our inventory #'s are different than the style numbers found online for that designer so you can describe the dress to me and I can check..."". Really??!? How efficient is that?? How can you sell a designer dress to someone if you don't know or cannot answer if you have it or where you can find it in your system?? Needless to say, I am not sure why they have the methods that they do or the inventory organization that they choose but I can say that my experiences with this store have been frustrating and challenging and I will let every bride-to-be that crosses my path just that. I DO NOT recommend this store! more

Great Place!!! 3/23/2012

This bridal world experience was amazing! The staff was very friendly and professional. They treated my daughter like a bride but it was her Senior PROM! more

Horrible 9/26/2011

I made an appointment over a week before my visit, but when I arrived I had to wait over 10 minutes before anyone even spoke to me. Then they seemed surprised that I had an appointment and told me they were over booked. At first they didn't have a dressing room and the girl helping me was too busy to be any help at all. I tried on a dress I was actually interested in, but could barley get to a mirror to look at it. While I was looking for another dress the girl came and told me my time was almost up and the next appointment was there. Are you kidding me?! I only tried on two dresses and had to wait around for them my entire visit. She told me I should come back during the week. Isn't that what an appointment is for? This place was a joke. They do have cheap dresses. So, there is that I guess. Good luck. more

What a great time! 3/17/2011

this store is amazing! They really do care about your wedding! The staff is friendly and professional I have seen some good shops and some bad - but this store is the GREAT! It means a lot to a bride to have a store that really cares about you! I absolutely recommend this store! more

Overpriced!!! 2/4/2011

I'm glad that some of you have had positive experiences here; they definitely need your support! Although the staff was very helpful throughout my purchase process, their prices are RIDICULOUSLY high! I was there to purchase my wedding dress and accessories and ended up finding the exact same items for 60% cheaper online and at other stores! The prices were so high that I couldn't in good conscience ask my bridesmaids to purchase their dresses from there! A word to the wise, if you find something in this store that you like, go home and do a search for the same items and I guarantee that you'll find them cheaper! more

definitely worth a visit!! 12/17/2010

As an afterthought I booked an appt here for the morning before going to David's Bridal in the afternoon, where I had been hoping to find an affordable dress. I ended up cancelling my appt with David's Bridal, however, because I fell in love with and bought a dress that morning at the Bridal Salon! The woman helping me was very friendly and easygoing, I tried on about 5 dresses and the first one was so tempting and perfect that we thought it was the one, it was $620 which was a little more than what I wanted to spend....but then the last dress I tried on fit me like a glove, and was even more perfect than the first one, and a STEAL at $450!!!! It's Alfred Angelo, worn once before but looked brand new. An absolutely beautiful dress that I feel like a princess in and looks like it was made to fit me. We decided there and then to buy because it was consigned and so it was the only one they had, of course, and I didn't want to risk anyone else getting it while I wasted time trying on elsewhere. It was definitely the perfect decision and deal. I left off a star simply because although I found my dress, they didn't appear to have as wide a selection of dresses to choose from as I've seen elsewhere. But they are all quality and wonderfully priced, and it is definitely a place worth going, to see if there is something there for you. Also, it was disappointing that I couldn't take pictures in the store of myself wearing the dress. We thought that was a little ridiculous, as even Priscilla of Boston allows you to do that and Bridal Salon didn't give any sort of reason as to why we couldn't. more

Great, friendly service 7/28/2010

I came into this shop after a REALLY disappointing trip into Victorian Rose Bridals. I could not believe how rude and unhelpful the girls in Victorian Rose were. In contrast, the lady who helped me at A Bridal World was very helpful yet allowed me plenty of time to browse on my own. Who cares if you can't take pictures of dresses? I was happy with the prices of the gowns I was looking at as well. Pros: Helpful and friendly more

worst place and service ever 5/3/2010

this is the worst place ever, I ordered my bridesmaid dresses here, big mistake, after having the run around 3 times they will now be in hopefully 2 weeks before my wedding date now my girls have to rush for alterations. They also purposly sold me a dress that was way to large and unable to be altered, so I then had to purchase another. If this is the only place to order or purchase a dress of any kind I wouldn't do it unless you want to be lied to or not receive the item on time, they are very unorganized, and have little knowledge of things, I wouldn't reccommend this place to a roach, Run from here Cons: everything more

Great service 3/1/2010

This place has wonderful customer service. They have a great selection and very reasonable prices. I'm also impressed on well they take care of their dresses. The lady who helped me (Diana) stayed with me the whole entire time (unlike David's Bridal where the staff disappears for 15 minutes at a time!). She wasn't pushy or impatient, she was absolutely wonderful. However, I was a bit disappointed that I could not take pictures, although I understand their agreement with the manufacturers. Pros: Good prices, great customer service Cons: Cannot take pictures more

ANYWHERE BUT HERE! 2/8/2010

This place was horrible! I'm a bride searching for the best place to order my bridesmaid's dresses. My choices were down to two places, with one possibility being A Bridal World. One of my maids used to be a bridal boutique consultant and I took her to A Bridal World with me because I'm clueless. First of all, the consultant I was supposed to ask for was busy so they sent over a girl who clearly didn't know the answers to my questions and just rambled on. Instead of saying, ""let me find out,"" she obviously just made up junk. They wouldn't even show me ANY of the dresses by the manufacturer because they were ""in the back being priced and they can't be separated."" Are you serious? The dress is $35 more at A Bridal World than the other place I was looking into. We felt we had totally wasted our time going to this place so we just decided to look around. Ladies, I've never been married before and have not been read the fine print of bridal stores. So, I found this wedding gown I loved and wanted to remember the manufactures name so I could research the company. I happen to have my phone in my pocket so I took a pic of the tag on the dress so I could remember it. Apparently that is the crime of all crimes you can commit in A Bridal World. An employee FREAKED OUT!!! She went on and on and on about how I wasn't allowed to do that and told me I had to delete the picture from my phone. I was in such shock at how she acted. I said ok and deleted the picture. My friend and I kept looking at gowns. Next thing I know, the manager comes over and tells me I'm not allowed to take pictures. REALLY??!! I'm not 5 years old. I don't need to be told a million times. They were so rude. I stopped her and said, ""Ma'am, this has already been explained to me."" She just walked away. I am so offended at how we were treated. I will never step foot in that store again. I will also tell anyone who I know may go in there my story! I'm definitely ordering from ANYWHERE ELSE! Pros: absolutely nothing Cons: RUDE AND UNKNOWLEDGABLE STAFF!!! more

Found My Dress!!! 10/26/2009

I was only looking for other places not even intending to buy that day. The staff (Sheena) listen so carefully at what I liked and didn't like about dresses that she was able to pull one off the rack that was what I wanted. I never would have tried it on just looking. Yes it is from 2004 collection, but also it was under $500 and I won't look like everybody who walked in DB's. Pros: Great prices, sizes and staff helpful!! more

A great little shop 10/6/2009

Great service! Very helpful, Good selection and great prices, nice clean store. Pros: they are very helpful more

Lots of selection! 7/19/2009

I was looking for a plus sized wedding gown and decided to check out Bridal World. They had a large selection of plus size dresses. The one lady was super helpful, but the older lady started yelling at me for ""running around the store"" in one of their wedding gowns. #1 - was not running. #2 - was not around the storebut right next to the dressing room looking at flower girl halos. #3 - was waiting for someone to come unzip me, since they don't let you unzip the dresses yourself. If I hadn't found a dress at Bridal Mart the next day, I probably would've gone back to Bridal World to purchase the dress I tried on. Pros: Lots to choose from, including plus size gowns Cons: Beware of the old lady, she'll yell at you more

Nice little place! 1/20/2009

The staff is fantastic here! They are so friendly and the selection is always fresh and well organized! I am pregnant and was able to find wonderful maternity things here. They only take new or very gently used items so you never have to worry about the quality of what you buy. I plan on purchasing a lot of my baby's clothing from there as well. The only draw back that I could see is that the gentleman that works downstairs (I think the owner's husband) is a bit pushy and wants to hold a conversation with you while you shop. Seems friendly at first but gets a bit annoying after a while. You also have to really search through the clothes but that is expected of any consignment shop and it just means they have a lot to choose from! Just be sure that you try everything on that you want because their return policy is very short... I think 3 days. Pros: Wonderful selection in every size! more
