Terrible Customer Service 7/31/2011

I made a reservation on Friday night for a Saturday night stay because another hotel I called in the area was full and mentioned this one had just had a room open up. I made the reservation and gave the person on the phone my credit card to reserve it. When we arrived the next night at 9:30, the only person in the ""office"" asked if I had a reservation. I said yes, I'd just made it the night before. He made a phone call, and then said basically, ""We got no rooms, can't help you."" When I pressed about the reservation I had just made (how do you forget such a thing at a small place?), he just repeated the statement and said I could call the main line if I wanted to. There was no, more

the only ""pro"" to this place was that you we were the only ones there b/c we were the only ones dumb enough to not check the reviews before we came and fell for the false promises Pros: only that is was quiet b/c we were the only ppl dumb enough Cons: everything more

Happy Trails! 7/6/2009

Overall we had a great experience. The only bad part was that we arrived 10 minutes early and nobody came and greeted us for at least 15 minutes. We met the owner Stan and he was not very personable. He barely spoke to us and then we had to wait for people that never showed. As for the horses, they were beautiful and well kept. I figured they would be run down but they were strong and healthy. Our guide was a young girl from New Mexico and she was great! She let us go at our own pace which I really appreciated being a new rider and all. She was very nice and we had a great time. Overall once you get on the trail its great, beautiful scenery and pleasant company! Will go back again anytime that we want to go horseback riding. Pros: Great Horses & Guides more

Interesting but wonderful place 5/26/2009

It's a wonderful place to go riding and they have some nice looking cabins in the back that I noticed. They have a great looking bar/restaurant that didn't seem to be open - a little disappointing... It has an amazing feel to the place, you can tell when you see the homestead there that this ranch is very old like a piece of history, I could keep my camera down. It's a little frustrating when you call to make reservation because most of the time one of the owners seem to answer and they are rude and very hard to understand (very thick accents)... If you're lucky though you'll get one of the wranglers or the young lady in the office to answer the phone and they make it a lot easier for you. When you get there Stan - the owner loves to talk and talk and talk but once you get away from him you'll be off on your ride with one of the wranglers there. I was lucky enough to have a young man named Kevin from Louisiana I believe. He was wonderful, I recommend that anyone who ride there ask for him. I'm sure the other wrangler there are great but just to be sure ask for him and see if it's possible. After you've started your ride and begin getting out into the beauty of the incredible mountains there he does his best to make sure you're enjoying your trip and getting your money's worth. I made my husband go back to Fairplay so we could go to the ATM because I wanted to make sure he knew how great of a time he gave us with a great tip. One of the other guys that was there let it slip that while they do get paid most of their money comes from tips. My advice just deal with Stan while you have to and the others there will do there best to give you what you want. Happy Trails Pros: Great location, beautiful view great wrnaglers Cons: AWFUL OWNERS - Stay away from them and it'll be amazing more
