I cannot say it loud enough, RUN do not walk away from this establishment. We are the unfortunate victims of this business' equipment, sales and service practices. We purchased some used equipment from 5th Street for our cafe, we were told the equipment would be cleaned, tested, reconditioned and serviced. We took delivery on some of the pieces of equipment and was shocked at the condition of the equipment. Nothing had been cleaned, nothing had been refurbished, nothing had been recondition. The casters on all the equipment came with food and other dirt and grime on the rollers, this is specifically where bugs room in restaurant equipment, bugs lay their eggs in the casters of the equipment unless the equipment is cleaned. So thanks to 5th Street, they infected our cafe with bugs whereas we had to have pest control come in and spray the whole cafe and all equipment from 5th Street. 5th Street stated they installed a new compressor/condensor into one of the refridgeration units, I inspected the reconditioned parts and determine that nothing had been installed as the same marks I had made on the equipment while at their warehouse were the same marks on the units when it arrived at my cafe. When I confronted 5th Street that they had not cleaned, reconditioned and/or refurbished any of the equipment, they lied and said they did and that if any of the equipment was not working properly was because I had done something to it. I could go on and on and on about the abuses by this facility. Short and sweet, I returned all equipment to 5th Street, demanded my money, threatening a lawsuit. I was able to recoup most of my monies. 5th Street is one of the most unethical businesses I have ever encountered. It is sad commentary when you call a local HVAC/refridgeration service/repair and they ask (without even seeing the equipment) - is if it was purchased from 5th Street. Yep, 5th Street has a name for itself, but it's a name what screams, WARNING! WARNING! DANGER! DANGER!
