Adger57, I generally eat here @369 bistro twice a week for lunch. The service is great friendly, I repeat don't call after 11:30a.m nobody answers the phone. The beef $ broccoli & the orange chicken is excellent. General is average I think they use jalapeños; Really. ..I would recommend this place for lunch!!! more

Surprisingly Good Chinese Restaurant Inside The Loop 7/23/2011

I always struggle with find a decent Chinese restaurants inside the loop and near Downtown that is reasonably priced but most importantly offer a string and authenticate traditional Chinese flavor. I believe I've found it in 3-6-9. Their food is tasty and fresh. And for me, being a Chinese myself, the taste is authenticate enough for me. My favorite is their Chicken in Black Bean Sauce which is heavy and spicy in flavor, the way I like it. For me, 3-6-9 beats Kam's, Hunan Village, Auntie Chang and couple other American-Chinese restaurants in this area. more

MEH! 9/26/2010

OKAY ate there yesterday. By the way. I am probably the biggest fan of Asian food ever. But the chicken and string beans I ate today was soooo shabby and had this gross tangy after taste following every bite. My best friend had the spicy shredded pork and couldn't get through half of his plate. I will say though, I enjoyed their wonton soup. :) more

Excellent Food and Service 4/29/2010

Very Nice place to eat that really wows you with their food. I asked the waiter for recommendations and they pleasantly surprised me with their person favorite item. They take pride in their food and really make you feel welcome... I continue to go to this eatery weekly and I tell all my friends Pros: They Offer Great Food and also Wine!! Cons: Sometimes Busy during Lunch more

Best Hot&Sour soup in Houston 12/29/2009

I love this place. I work nearby and have eaten there once a week (or more) for almost 5 years. They don't even take my order anymore check first if I want ""my regular"" and know right what it is. Very friendly staff and the best Tso's and Orange Chicken. Cashew Chicken is good too and the Special Lo Mein is delicious as well as the Crab Puffs. Try the Garlic Chicken or Tangy Spicey Beef too. Even Ken Hoffman agrees their H&S Soup is the best in Houston!! Food is always hot, fresh and fast. I prefer to Dine-in, as Take-out anywhere is just never quite the same and here is no exception. But the take out is pretty good too. Very good prices as well, especially for lunch. Pros: best Tso's & Orange Chicken, great soups, friendly, prices Cons: can be crowded from 11:30-1pm, take out only so-so more

Only the General 10/16/2009

I love their General's, it has jalapeno's in it. But the female as mentioned in other reviews is spot on, very blunt and can come off rude. I work downtown, so driving over here is a bit out of my way. When I call in a order for pickup, and there is no one inside, i'd expect it to be about ready by the time I get there since I wait a while before leaving. Pros: General Cons: Blunt service more

Best egg drop soup!!! 9/8/2009

This place has the best egg drop soup ever. It offers really great food and great service in a really nice atmosphere, for a very reasonable price. Definitely my favorite. I go at least once a week. Pros: Egg drop soup, great food, great service, nice atmosphere Cons: Rice is just ok. more

RUDE 8/15/2009

Beware the takeout! 8/6/2009

I stopped by one Saturday afternoon for a quick bite while running errands. Had the spring rolls. Delicious and great spicy sauce!! Pros: Great food if you dine in Cons: They cheat you on take out more

Dirty food and rude female manager/owner 3/23/2009

Ever since I started college, I have been going to this place for a couple of years for lunch. I thought it had pretty decent oriental food (which would be a complement being that I am Asian). One day at the beginning of the year, we came here for lunch and my boyfriend found a strand of hair (armpit hair?) in his soup. The waiter was nice enough to get him a new cup of soup. From then one he didn't want to come back. But today, I persuaded him that it was fine and that we should have lunch there today. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I was eating my broccoli and my last one had a cocoon with a larvae inside. I looked closely and I can seen the woven details of the cocoon and the segments on the larvae. We told the waiter and he took it to the back. He came back and apologized for it. Of course we found out that they don't wash their vegetables and just steam it. But that wasn't even the problem. The female Chinese manager/owner didn't even come over and apologize. I walked up to her and asked her what she thought about the situation. She glared at me and told me, rudely, it was rice. Hello, I am Asian and I know what cooked rice looked like and I am a biologist so I know what a cocoon and larvae looks like. I told her it was definitely a cocoon with a larvae. She exhaled in frustration, shook her head, punched in the numbers on the calculator very hard, and said she will give me a couple of dollars off. So I agree mnbecker, she is rude and she always had seemed rude when I came there. But the waiter was very attentive and nice so we still gave him a good tip. Well, that's it for me. I'm not coming back. She just lost herself a couple of frequent customers and maybe more. Pros: Good hot and sour soup Cons: Unwashed and dirty food, rude female manager/owner more

excellent food 2/14/2009

A friend and I decided to try 369 Bistro last week, after finding our favorite "Ming's" has closed. The hot and sour soup was delicious and filled with mushrooms, different that what i was used to, but absolutely great! The spicy fried asparagus was to die for. Really a meal in itself. Service was very good, attentive yet not hovering waiter, Fair prices.I recommend this restaurant. more

Horrible, Rude Service 1/25/2009

I have eaten at this restaurant a couple of times and had delivery a couple of times as well. I have always thought that the food was ""decent"" at best, but it is close to my house and they deliver. There are several other Chinese food restaurants in this neighborhood that have much better food (and offer a better value), but again they don't deliver. more

salivating as I type 10/29/2008

The chicken and broccoli is to die for. I come here at least once a week for lunch. It is amazing. The prices are reasonable, and the service is excellent. I would also recommend getting the fried rice. This place is a keeper! more

Five Star Food and Service at 3 star prices 10/9/2008

Delicious food. Attentive service. Clean and quiet environment. I know the kitchen is clean in a restaurant if the bathroom is clean. Here it is clean. Very resonably priced also. Pros: VERY good menu and well seasoned food. Above and beyond the majority of Asian restaurants Cons: none to write about. more

Great food, service, and indoor look 5/15/2008

The environment just makes you feel comfortable. The waiters/waitress are very nice and friendly. The food is GREAT, I always try something new every time I go in and I've never been disappointed. Also, you get a lot more food than what you pay for, but not so much you have left over. I definitely recommend this place to everyone. more

Truely delectable General Tao's 7/22/2007

I have been receiving delivery from 369 Oriental Bistro for a while now. I am never disapointed when I choose to order from them. They are timely on their deliveries and the food always arrives fresh and hot. My favorite dish to order has been the General Tao's Chicken. I have eaten at many other Chinese restaurants around Houston and Oriental Bistro's General Tao's is right up there with the best of them. They serve the General Tao's Chicken with deep fried bits of chicken seasoned with ginger, garlic, soy sauce, etc. with hot chili peppers and jalapenos. The dish is served with steamed brocolli which in the sauce, is very tasty. I recomend this restaurant to any lover of Chinese food. Pros: General Tao's Chicken, Spring Rolls, Egg Drop Soup, ect. Cons: I haven't had anything I didn't like. Don't expect perfect service, but not terrible. more

Really GOOD General Tsao's 7/19/2007

I remember ordering more things at this place, but I was truly wowed by the General Tsao's chicken. It was balanced complex, and with large chunks of chicken. I would go back to get it again, but Weight watchers doesn't allow me to always indulge. As I said, the other entrees we got were good, but not back-flip-worthy like the chicken. Pros: Chicken! Reasonable wait time Cons: slightly pricier for chinese dinner than i'm used to more
