When my roommate and I decided to move to Denver we thought we'd hit the apartment jackpot when we found 300 E. 17th. The apartments seemed to be clean and modern, the lobby was nice, its was in a great location, had an on site laundry room, gym, and covered parking! We thought we'd never find anything better!\r \r If you recently looked into leasing one of these apartments and had a similar first impression I warn you: do not be fooled by any of this. \r \r I could go on for pages about why you shouldn't live here but I'll keep it short and sweet.\r \r About a month in to our lease our sink fell into our cabinet. Literally detached from the granite and collapsed into the cabinet below, causing disgusting, smelly black water to seep directly into the floorboards for hours (it happened during the day while we were at work.) After calling emergency maintenance and having them come fix it we thought we'd seen the end of our plumbing problems. Nope. \r \r A few months later our sink stopped draining and instead started regurgitating all of the sediment from the pipes and garbage disposal filling the sink with the same disgusting black water. We thought simply running the disposal would solve the problem but it only made it worse. The sink backed up to the point where it was overflowing disgusting food-ridden water onto the floor once again. After a second round of emergency maintenance we thought surely our problems were fixed. Wrong again.\r \r Week after week we had the same problems with our sink backing up and refusing to drain. All of these issues were ""fixed"" only to resurface the following week. PS not ONCE did the maintenance men clean up after themselves. Dirty footprints and wet rags were left EVERYWHERE. These issues then extended to our dishwasher, which we one day opened to find the same stagnant black water.\r \r The absolute boiling point came late one Friday night when our dishwasher started leaking the foulest smelling black water yet. Furious with the building's apparent lack of ability to fix our appliances we called emergency after hours maintenance, only to be told that they had already fixed this problem, sorry, and were then hung up on. We followed up with the leasing agents the next day. To their credit they were very apologetic and assured us that we would not be held responsible for any water damage or plumbing issues upon the end of our lease. \r \r Needless to say we did not want to renew so when move out time came a few months later we gladly paid off the rest of our rent and RAN away. \r \r It's been about 2 months now since we moved out and we finally got our security deposit back! Looks like they deducted our last rent payment, which we have already paid in full, as well as took the liberty of using our money to repair water damages. I can't say I'm surprised.\r \r Just don't live here. more

DO NOT LIVE HERE 9/5/2011

Management will not help residents. They lie about referral fees, take personal phone calls while you wait, and talk down to you as if you are a child. Every week you'll get memos on how things were stolen (looks like their ""security guard"" is really doing his job...) Argued with maintenance/management ALL winter long bc my heat did not work, and both departments kept blaming it on each other. Fire alarms pulled, sprinklers going off (worse than back in college dorms) flooding in apartment unit and maintenance doing NOTHING about it. Talk with nearby apartment complexes, they'll even tell you how unprofessional they are here, and cannot even keep an 80% occupancy rate. more

DO NOT MOVE HERE. The location is great and that is the one thing I can say about it. they promised me a parking spot when I moved in and I went to get one and they told me none were available even though there are about 2,500 free spots in the garage. Some of the ladies are friendly but most of them have a stick up their ass...it seems they are more concerned with getting new people to sign then their current residents. ALSO they NEVER let you know when a package has been delivered, and it became really annoying to deal with....my advice, try another place FOR SURE Pros: good location, apartments are not bad, feel like a dorm tho more

This old building needs help soon 11/1/2005

Being built in 1985 this building was once refered to the crack house in New Jack City. ""The Carver"" It was well know around Denver for it's drug dealers and buyers. After new management took it over afew years baack they worked very hard to change that image and for the most part did. Now their problems are not the residents but rather the management. Although the staff is quite friendly. Their new property manager has little or no ""bedside manager"" The buildings halls smell of septic and others peoples dinners. The art is early to mid eighties Duran Duran style.. think red and black laquer. And the elevators have little to be desired, one could die waiting for one. That coupled with the horrible parking situation and the property managers lack of knowledge turn this place into one to stay away from...pity when the leasing reps are so pleasent. Pros: Helpful leasing reps, good location Cons: property manager, run down building, parking situation more
