Take an upscale martini bar from houston. Remove half of the rich pretentious snobs, all of the gold-digging call-girls, throw in some intelligent doctors, some local business own...

This club is on the best intersection in Galveston. 21, The Stork Club, and Rudy and Paco all offer something unique. Brian the owner is a very nice guy. more

Very RUDE! 1/17/2010

I live here in Gal, and can go anywhere, however, usally do not go here. They (21)thinks its great, and it could be, but the staff is rude everytime I "try again", and the bouncers always have problems with customers, even non-problem causing customers. This is a "recurring" local problem that has been observed. Again, this is an observation, not a personal experience, but it makes you think twice about going here when your going out for fun. Too many other places to go, and if you do a web search you will find this is a recurring comment... more

An Uppity Bar in Galveston?! 7/2/2005

This is probably as close as Galveston gets to yuppie. That's not to say that only yuppies frequent it, because it's mostly residents, students and tourists. But, it's fairly expensive for the drinks (they make great martinis though) and the decor reminds me of something you might find in a swanky part of Chicago or Dallas. Great place to meet interesting individuals, or simply relax with friends. Catch it on a live music night for a good ol' time. Bottom Line: Good drinks, but expect to pay for them. All in all a nice experience. more

Editorial
  • In Short
The well-heeled flock to this martini bar's popular location in the historic Jacobs Building. The scene inside can best be described as eclectic elegance. Coffee tables, lounge chairs and oversized, custom-made sofas with diffused polka-dot patterns dominate the darkened, L-shaped room. For those in search of a little privacy, two separate booths are tucked into one corner. At the other end of the room is the hustle and bustle of the stand-up bar and a single, pink-felt pool table.
