Best

In that day, i passing by with my wife to visit Temple Square and just at few block's to east i sow this...

Worst

I had the Al Forno's pasta. It was described as a meat and 4 cheese pasta stack with a ""light"" tomato sauce. Lets start with the sauce, my very first impression was watered down...

Good Italian 6/30/2004

While not as cheap as it used to be, Al Forno's is a great restaurant. The service is a little lacking, but the food is great. They have wonderful spinach salad and roquefort dressing; for appetizers, the clams and the mozarella are also quite good. I would suggest avoiding the lasagna and pizza, but most other pasta dishes are spectacular. My favorites are the tortellini pesto and the linguini fradiavlo. Bolognese and pepperoni are good, as well. Good for groups or dates. Pros: relatively cheap, good Italian food, location more

Valentines Disappointment 2/16/2004

My fiance and I waited a whole hour for our main course. Our drinks needed refilling and our plates piled up as they were not taken off our table. Our server was not to be seen for the whole hour on the floor, as I only saw her three times, trying to get her attention about our drinks and appetizer. She was unfriendly and unpersonable. The hostess was unprofessional while the busboys flirted with her next to us as we sat right next to the hostess. The room was cold even after they tried to turn the heat on. The food was not worth the hour long wait and the slow service made us late for events after dinner. I can understand being busy on Valentines Day and for a Saturday, but preparing for a slam is common sense, it is as though one cook was in the kitchen. Pros: parking, nice room Cons: , mediocre food more

Perfect 11/29/2003

When the food is wonderful, the atmostphere is romantic, and the service knows how to be helpful w/out being intrusive, it begs for a perfect rating. Al Forno's is it. My #1 pick for Italian. Pros: food, atmosphere, service more

First Date 2/20/2003

Food was fabulous, atmosphere was romantic. My first date with my husband could not have been any better. There was something in the air that night or in the wine, and I was swept off my feet and fell in love. The mood was right and the food delicious, we still go many times together or with large groups. Either way I always have a wonderful experience! Pros: Food, Mood, Service more

Definitely the BEST Italian! 12/9/2002

Al Forno's is a wonderful Italian restaurant. The fresh pasta and the fresh baked rolls are excellent. I crave them. The nightly specials are always a good pick as well as the Fettucine Picante. It is really rich, but the flavors are well balanced. Anything you order is pretty much gauranteed to please any palate. If you enjoy Italian food then make sure that you don't miss out on Al Forno's. Pros: Inexpensive, Daily Specials Cons: Parking more

Wonderful! 11/18/2002

I had the tortellini al pesto. It was excellent--the pesto was fresh and had a nice basil taste and had some cream mixed in to give it a nice texture. There was no sauce left over when I had eaten all of the tortellini which is the way it should be. There's noting worse than Italian places that drown the pasta in sauce. The portion was the perfect size. My date had the chicken breast in creamy sundried tomato sauce with mushrooms, green olives, and artichokes, with a side of spinach rice. It was wonderful (I tried it). Try the tiramisu for dessert! The prices were just right and the service was wonderful. Pros: Romantic, Classy, Excellent food more
