General Mitchell International Airport is an excellent airport that my family and I have had the privvy of using a few times.
It's a generously spaced airport with excellent parking. Small food court area.
There are free shuttles to all the different parking lots, and free shuttle service to the rental car services available.
There is a smoking area inside the facility.
There is only one elevator that I have found, that is located in the center of the plaza...you can also find it at the top and across from the escalators.
Friendly associates also.
Curb parking is only if someone remains in the vehicle, and there are service porters at the curb that will load and transport your items for a fee (tip).

We have flown via Midwest Express Airlines five times now. Always as a connecting flight.
The planes are smaller, the rows are set up as one seat on one side and two seats on the other. So you have pretty good odds at getting a window seat. :)
Midwest Express has run on time for us for all our flights. The flight attendants are courteous and pleasant. Snacks are good too.
The planes are newer, very clean, and user friendly. The bathrooms are typical.
Flights via Midwest Express are considerably lower in cost than the other major airline companies.
They recently expanded their flight services also.
I highly recommend.

I was out toodling around town and venturing out of my area when I stumbled upon the strip mall area that Reiman Publications is at.
I have read about the visitor center in all the magazines from them that I subscribe to. I had just never put it in perspective that it was in my backyard.
So I just had to stop. And I am pleased that I did. When my folks come to visit this summer a trip is already planned with my Mother.
I was able to purchance an abundance of books for only $2, $3, and $5. These were clearance items, and the covers might have had a scratch or something minimal such as that, but nothing that would decrease the integrety of the book itself.
Extraordinary bargains are to be found here!
The bargin bin of all the books is in the basement. To which you can access either by stairwell or elevator.
The first floor is more of a visitor's center and museum. It also contains the infamous kitchen where they try out all the submitted recipes. They do offer up cookies for a nominal charge. And it really smells good in there too!
Stop on by.

The landscaping is beautiful here. Please bring your camera. You can get some gorgeous pictures of your loved ones on the covered bridge and water falls.
The courses range from super easy to extremely challenging. And I mean challenging...so much so that you just want to give up. But you don't!!
Lots of walking, and not your average terrain either. Oodles of hills and mini mountains to climb, but always with a breath taking view. You can actually go all the way to top, where the challenging course is, and get a great view of the Dells and the river.

Great family fun!

Warner Brother cartoon characters.
Lots of roller coasters.
Fun rides for the wee ones.
Excellent treatment and priveledges for the handicapped.
They have oodles of roller coasters...from the new fangled ones that go way TOO fast to the old style ones that go clickity clack!
Water fountains are very sparse. You are however allowed to bring in ONE bottle of water per person.
Pack a lunch and eat outside tailgate style, or dine in the park. Their chicken dinners are terrific.

The Mitchell Park Domes make for a great afternoon walk. There are three domes and each one has it's own theme.
The first, is a backyard style theme. With rows of vegetables growing, beautiful tress, and domestic florals. All set in a gorgeous picturesque atmosphere.
The second, is a dry landscape, such as you would find in a dessert. Beautiful plantings and a wonderful pathway.
The third, is a tropical, wet forest type area. Full of birds, butterflies and bugs. This one is my favorite. Blooms from all kinds of plants and trees are abundant. The chirping of the birds is enchanting and enhances the trill of trying to locate the birds hiding in the vibrant foilage.
If you are a military person, retired or active, stop at the USO down by the lakefront..where the museum is, they will give you tickets for FREE admission.
Great parking by the way!!

This place is so interesting.
There are three domes, with three different landscapes inside.
The prettiest by far, to me, is the jungle type one. Lots of beautiful flowers, growing vines and plants, birds and butterflies.
The other is of a desert scape, and then one of a backyard farm country scenary.
It's so pretty inside.
You really do HAVE to see this place to appreciate the beauty.
Also called The Mitchell Domes.
