My husband and I just spent our first anniversary on Salt Spring Island in the Canadian Gulf Islands and it was perfect!
We stayed at All Seasons Bed & Breakfast: link which was great. Quiet, secluded location, very comfortable room, your own bathroom, heated floors, amazing breakfast brought to you each morning....
No TV, which was actually a really nice change for a few days. We took some portable speakers and our ipods with us.
This time of year, I think the Saturday Market will be going on. There are cool artist studios all over the island.

Excellent service, one of a kind jewelry

I was referred to Greenlake Jewelry Works by a friend who had her engagement ring created there. For my engagement ring, we took the diamonds from my grandmother's ring and had them put into a new setting which my husband and I designed together. We also had both of our wedding bands made there, to match the engagement ring. They all turned out exactly as we'd hoped and we feel so lucky to have jewelry that really reflects our style, yet incorporates a piece of my history, from my grandma's engagement ring.
We went back recently because my husband wanted to design a birthstone pendant for our first anniversary. Again, it was a completely stress-free experience. They understand exactly what you want, and seeing the piece at different stages throughout the process really lets you make sure it turns out as you envision.

Rolando Cordova is great

We had one window in our house replaced in October and used Rolando Cordova, (206-313-6623) who was recommended by a co-worker of mine.
He did a great job, and his bid came in at about half that of Pella. I think it's tough to find someone who will come out for a very small job like one window.

We love Dream Dinners!

You put in a few hours once/month, and come home with a freezer full of dinners! With both my husband and I working, it's the only way we can have a real dinner at home without spending hours in the kitchen after work and eating at 10 pm. We love the variety of the meals, and how easy they are to prepare.
