We always use the Plumbing Joint. They have been quite good and more reasonable than most.

Review of: Brown & White Landscaping

You could try Brown & White landscaping. I have heard mixed reviews about their landscaping, but they certainly mow lawns.

I think they are based in Bellevue, but I see them all over Seattle. At least half of my neighbors on Queen Anne use them.

I just had dinner at Crush and was very impressed. Everything was great and the chef was quite inventive. Also, the service was wonderful.

    Review of: Carmelita

Carmelita continues to be my favorite restaurant in Seattle.

Unless you are a die-hard carnivore who cannot imagine a meal without meat, you will love Carmelita.

Review of: Merchant's Art & Paper

We did wedding invitations, programs, etc. through a little place in East Bellevue called Merchant's. (Or maybe that is Redmond - right on the border)

It is a small shop in a strip mall - not somewhere I would have walked into without a recommendation. It is directly adjacent to the Macy's furniture shop in Bellevue (close to Microsoft / Trader Joes/ Uwajamaia)

Merchants was great. They were affordable, the service was fantastic, and they had a whole variety of papers and designs. We used handmade papers from India and Thailand and it was still quite affordable.

We worked with a great young woman named Siobhan. I don't know whether she is still there, but I really liked everybody.

    Review of: Dana's Housekeeping

I have had really good luck with Dana's referral system. But I have recommended them to other's at Judy's book who have not had such good luck. Like most service work - it is all about the individual.

If you want to give them a try, just call and they will send somebody. Then they call you to see if you want to continue with that person. If most people say no, that person is no longer employed by Dana's. So the bad ones get weeded out, but you might be be referred to a new, untested person. I have certainly never seen, or heard of, a Dana's person who was dishonest or problematic in any serious way - just some who are not so fantastic at cleaning house.

It might help to mention my name.

    Good luck.

    Review of: Washington Energy Services

We used WESCO for a new furnace and water heater. While the furnace and water heater are great, the service from WESCO has been far below par. Their work failed inspection and we are still trying to sort that out.

    Review of: Udupi Palace

Udupi Palace serves the best south Indian food I have found in the Seattle area.

This small, humble restaurant is located near the cinema in the Crossroads Mall (not inside the mall, but alongside it).

They have opened a second location in Issaquah called Dosa Palace. I have never been there.

Review of: Banjara Cuisine of India

Banjara has gone out of business.

The owners of the neighboring restaurant bought the space and are building a new one there.

If you are craving north Indian food and are in Queen Anne, you can head down the hill to Roti in Uptown.

Actually, Banjara was started by an Indian man named David, who sold Banjara years ago and opened Roti.

Review of: Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce

If you want to walk on to the ferry, you can just walk off and right onto the main street. There is a scenic walk that is very short and kid-friendly to the main street (or you can follow the commuters up the road).

The diner is good. Nola's is the gourmet restaurant. There are great bakeries, coffee shops, ice cream, bookstores (travel and general), boutiques, a favored knitting store, many art galleries, etc.

It is a really fun way to spend half a day.

If you drive, Bainbridge has great places to walk in the woods or gardens.

    Here is a website: link

Or you can find the Chamber of Commerce website.
