I think this mall is so depressing. I grew up in N. Seattle, and Northgate was always where we went. I even worked at the GAP there. It was just a part of life. But now, I avoid it at all costs. I feel like it zaps my energy whenever I walk in.
Maybe it's how old and outdated it is. Maybe it's the lack of natural lighting. Maybe it's the fact that it's just so dang different than U-Village and Alderwood, which are moving to the outdoor mall style. Whatever the reason, I don't like going there.

Just yesterday I drove past the Central library and thought that it's been far too long since I've visited. This place is simply incredible. Not only is the book/periodical selection second-to-none, eye candy abounds.
It's a great place to go on a rainy day. I love listening to the rain hitting the thousands of windows.

Now that I'm out of my teens, I don't feel there's a lot for me at Gameworks. Centrally located in downtown Seattle, Gameworks is a mecca for teenagers looking to play games and hook up with each other. There are tons of games, with a bar and restaurant upstairs.
I think I'll pass.

I am so very thankful for Dr. Phillips at Northgate Vet. My cat ate part of a foam ball that I bought at Petco (boo for Petco) and we were forced to take him in for surgery. I was a crying mess the whole time during our initial appointment, and Dr. Phillips was reassuring and calming for me and for Amos (my kitty).
Amos received the very best of care, and I'm happy to report that he's home and recovering quickly.
If you need care for your pet, I will forever sing the praises of Northgate Veterinary Clinic.

I've tried a lot of cleansers. Murad Pomegranate Cleanser. Pevonia Sensitive Cleanser. Pevonia Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser. Pevonia Hydratingn Cleanser. Needless to say, I've spent a lot of money when I could have bought MD Formulations' Facial Cleanser.
This product rocks! It's got 12% Glycolic Acid which is great for those of us with dry skin. It's a great exfoliant and manages not to dry me out.
I get mine at Sephora. It's $32 and worth every penny.

When I purchased my Bare Escentuals starter kit, it included a full size bottle of bareVitamins - Skin Rev-er Upper . I was attracted to it because it has Glycolic and Salicylic Acids in it, which are highly exfoliating and ideal for my skin type.
I've been using it daily and love the results. When used in conjunction with my MD Formulations Glycolic Cleanser my skin really glows.
The other day I was noticing the bottle was almost empty. When I asked my husband about it, he sheepishly admitted he is also addicted to this fab product. Who can blame him?

I love the bags from Matt & Nat. They come in an array of off-beat colors (although still include black, brown and cream), and great shapes.
I immediately gravitated to one particular bag while in Victoria and was so delighted when the saleslady told me it was 100% pure vegan. What I assumed was buttery leather was in fact plastic treated to look and feel (really!!) like leather.
The prices are very reasonable considering what you can pay elsewhere, and the quality is pretty good. I wouldn't say the quality is as high as say Coach or Kate Spade, but it's close. And for what you pay, you really can't lose!
I think the bag I bought in Victoria cost around $100CAD.

I purchased a tote bag from KS about 5 years ago, and I still haven't had the heart to throw it out. Maybe it's partially because I paid around $400 for it, but it's also so darn cute. I love the details she includes in her bags, such as little metal feet so the bottom of your bag doesn't touch any nasty surfaces.
Her bags range from the simple black nylon to lime green leather and everything in between. They're easy to find at Nordstrom, Saks, etc. And if you're in Vegas, she has a store at one of the malls there, too.

Now I'll admit it. Of all the handbag brands out there, Coach is not my all-time favorite. Something about their really wild colors (lilac, anyone?) and the fact that they slather nearly all their bags with their signature print is a bit of a turn off.
BUT, their leather bags are truly where it's at. You can find more wearable colors in their leather bags, such as a lovely robin's egg blue, like the bag I just bought. It's got a lovely chocolate brown piping along the edges which I think is a lovely touch. The inside lining of my bag is a rich maroon which was unexpected but actually looks great.
A plus about Coach bags is that you can also find them at outlets, where the prices have come down a notch or two. The quality is still the same, as many of them are just after-market bags, but you can save a little dough.

I just bought a pair of Tamara Henriques, and they are sweet! I got the antique floral pattern and they are so hip. I love that I can splash in puddles like a little girl without getting my feet wet.
They're fully lined, come about knee high and are very warm. She has tons of different patterns, so you're bound to find something you like.
I had to order mine, buying them without trying them on. They're European sizes. I normally wear a 7 (37 EU size) and accidentally got an 8 (38 EU size). They fit fine with athletic socks, so I'm keeping them.
Yay for rain boots!
