Catch the after-holiday sales
Review of: American Greeting Card Shop
I caught a great sale at American Greetings after Christmas. A bunch of baby stuff was half off and I got a great baby memory book that is normally quite expensive. They have a great selection of candles and of course, cards. I also love all the seasonal things that they have that go on major sale after the holiday.

Good Italian place
Review of: Cara Mia
This cozy little Italian restaurant is a great find in Hell's Kitchen. Moderately priced, with a good menu selection and nice atmosphere. I had some of the chicken parmesan which lasted me a couple of meals, it was a good portion. The bread is tasty and the service is quick.

Flies in the salsa
Review of: Burrito Ville
I was looking forward to a good burrito at Burritoville, and when we walked into the one located at 9th Avenue and 44th Street, we completely lost our appetite when we glanced at the chips and salsa area completely covered in flies! No one was really in the restaurant, and we didn't wonder why. We got out of there quick. With Chipotle across the street, don't expect this fly ridden joint to be around long...

Yum Yum is yummy and a good deal
Review of: Yum Yum Bangkok Thai Restaurant
We stumbled on this restaurant in Hell's Kitchen district one night and were pleasantly surprised at the great food they have at really cheap prices, considering the location. The spring rolls and dumplings were delicious. The noodle dishes are huge (lasted me three meals!) The funny part is that if you walk down the street there are actually three Yum Yum restaurants! Serving the exact same things.

Watch out for the coat check
Review of: Baldoria
Our work holiday party was held here this year. I was taken aback right off the bat when the coat check didn't allow us to check purses. The operator said there was no room. Upon further inspection (I peered in) it appeared there was plenty of room. So, we had to haul our purse around all night. The upstairs area was great for a party, but I wish that they would have cleared the dance floor a bit more by moving the tables when practically everyone at the party was up there dancing and space was really tight. The food was good, but in the buffet line they would only allow one ravioli per person! It was crazy. The steak was excellent and the appetizers were similarly delicious.

Yummy sandwiches
Review of: PotBelly Sandwich Works
I really liked the sandwiches made at Potbelly's. And for only $4 each! Great deal. You have a great many options for what to put on them, and best of all you can get smoothies and ice cream here too. They'll give you a cup of free water if you don't want the soda. The decor is fun and old-school style.

Good deals and wide selection of maternity clothes
Review of: Motherhood Maternity
I've had a tough time finding maternity clothes that are reasonably priced as well as cute. But this store had a ton! One complaint I had was that most of the sale items were XL and XXL, very few smalls but I did find a nice dress. I loved the selection of dress shirts and pants. Even those that weren't on sale didn't cost that much. For every expecting mother, this is a must-stop.

One stop shop!
Review of: Destination Maternity
I was scared when I walked into this store because the bottom floor has the pricey brand - Pea in the Pod, which new moms like me (and probably most others!) can't afford. But upstairs they have brands like Motherhood Maternity and Mimi Maternity which are very reasonably priced. I was floored when I checked out the sale section - huge! I got some awesome deals and paid almost nothing for several new outfits. The sale section held every size too. They offered me comp water and juice and treated me well which I what you need at a time like this!

Fast and efficient doctor
Review of: Lyon & Martin Medical Associates PC
I've never been to my primary care physician. Since I am pregnant, I had to get a flu shot from one. After calling many offices that had long waiting lists to get in, I was able to get right into Dr. Lyon's office. I was afraid of all the paperwork I'd have to fill out being a new patient, but it took just a few minutes and waited only a few more minutes to be seen. They slid me in front of some other people since I only had to get the shot which was really nice since I was on a lunch break. Dr. Lyon is friendly and personable.

Small town feel in historic place
Review of: Boston Common Frog Pond
This park has a small town feel although it is a national landmark. I loved walking around the trails and seeing statues of various American leaders in this historic atmosphere. There are many tours available and no end to the history that can be experienced in just visiting. Perfect for photo ops - the city's skyline is directly behind the park. There are also many events and festivals that take place here that are fun for the whole family.
