  • Well stocked East Bay Nursery

    Rating:

    Review of: Regan's Nursery

This nursery is probably the best stocked nursery in the bay area. At least, the best stocked, most organized, with the best selection or plants nursery that I've visited in the bay area. The plants are healthy, the staff is friendly and helpful, and it's in a setting that makes locating any item much easier than other nurseries. They have a great selection of antique roses and other unusual plants and garden accessories.

  • Quality Silk and good prices

    Rating:

    Review of: Thai Silks

Thai Silks is located in the almost "quaint" downtown shopping area of Los Altos. Despite their pricey location, the prices at Thai Silks are reasonable, and they frequently have "grab-bags" filled with pieces suitable for smaller items, or for quilting / crazy quilting. For those of you not located near Los Altos, a trip to Thai Silks is worth the trip.

  • Small, "boutique" bookstore

    Review of: Books Inc

For the size of the store, they have a decent selection, and are very free to share their opinions. They also have a nice shop for lunch or coffee upstairs, but if you're looking for a place like Barnes & Noble, this isn't it. Try just down the block at BookBuyers first, if they don’t have it, try here.

  • Good Selection of used books, DVDs, Tapes, CDs

    Review of: Book Buyers

Although there is no way to look up what is in stock, most of the people working here have a good knowledge of whether or not something is in stock, most are willing to help locate it (other than point and tell you where to find it) and they have a good balance of old and "newer" / "popular" books. They do have categories of books in sections that are well defined. It's usually pretty easy to find what you are looking for, and if you just want to browse, they have everything set up to make that easier. Make sure to check their section of the "brand new" selections they haven't had a chance to put away.

  • Almost Perfection

Review of: Frankie Johnnie & Luigi Too

Frankie Johnnie & Luigi Too is a great combination of a relaxed, relaxed style restaurant with lots of ambiance (ask to be seated in the back room) and good food. They have terrific pizza, here, but most pizza seems to be ordered for take out. A decent selection on the menu for a business lunch or a quiet romantic dinner. The staff is courteous and quick to wait on you, without rushing you out the door as soon as you're done. The days of long lines at the doors seem to have departed with more competition, but they're almost always comfortably full. If you are on a budget but want both ambiance and good food, you can't really go wrong with Frankie Johnnie & Luigi Too.

  • You know you've found the perfect Veterinarian

    Review of: Arroyo Animal Clinic

I've been taking my pets here for years, shortly after I was introduced to them by a neighbor. You know you've found the perfect Veterinarian when your dog is actually happy and anxious to go IN to see the doctor, rather than having to be dragged. Compassionate and friendly staff, they give back more to your pet (and the community) than you pay for. I've had experiences with four veterinarians in the area, and while only one doctor was a bad experience, none come close to the care you'll get here. Everyone is treated like they are family.

  • Worth the drive to Magic Gardens

    Rating:

    Review of: Magic Gardens Landscaping

Magic Gardens has the largest selection of new and unusual plants that I've found around. The grounds are wide enough to feel as though you're not bumping into someone all the time. Great selection of Antique Roses. Owners and employees all seem very knowledgeable and are always helpful. Prices are not any more or less than any other reputable nursery.

  • Best Persian Restaurant and Great Prices

    Review of: Chelokababi Restaurant

I have lost track of the number of people I have introduced to this restaurant. It's small enough to be considered intimate, but the service is great, and the food is better. They have intimate little booths, a great selection of food, and the food is consistently great. One of my favorite local restaurants, I'd rate this much higher than Faz, even though the cost of a meal is considerably less, and the decor isn't quite as "chic," it's charming. A good dining experience.

  • Great Italian Food at Budget Price

    Rating:

Review of: Di Cicco's Ristorante Italino

Cozy, Family owned restaurant, great food at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is always pleasant, service is always good to great, and the food is wonderful. Call ahead and order take-out is available, as well. Or better yet, stay, sit, relax, and let them bring you a meal that is to be enjoyed.

Conveniently located near Bowers/Kiely on El Camino Real in Santa Clara.
