The Q Lube (Formerly known as McQuicks and Citgo Quick Lube) on Guilford Street in Huntington offers a discount to women one day a week. The last time I visited, it was on Tuesdays. I think this is a great gesture and encourages women to take initiative to have their own cars serviced. Q Lube will change the oil and filters, top off fluids, check air pressure in tires, even change wiper blades for you. With the Citgo station attached, it's very convenient to get fuel, get the oil changed and grab a gallon of milk or snacks all at the same time.

I was curious about the new Ford Freestyle, so I stopped in at Pace Ford and was able to test drive this great little car. I am not yet in the market to purchase a car, and I told them this up front. They were totally friendly and courteous. I was able to take a short test drive, come back, talk to the salesperson without any pressure of purchasing on the spot and leave with a great feeling about this business.

The breaded tenderloins at the Bell Cafe are wonderful. They are hand breaded, nice sized and always served hot. Add a nice side salad (includes cheese and tomatoes) and an order of breaded onion rings for a nice meal at a reasonable price. This bar is normally quiet and relaxing, never houses fights or a lot of commotion. I recommend this for adult dining or take-out for families.

The all-you-can-eat fish dinner at Poff's Place is a great deal. The fish is served with your choice of potato, roll or garlic toast, and a side such as salad, cole slaw, cottage cheese or others. The quality of the fish is superior, the fish is hand-breaded when ordered, and always brought to your table hot. The other items on the menu are also wonderful and offer such a variety. Poff's Place has everything from huge salads to toasted subs to delicious tenderloins and veggie baskets. This is a great place to eat, only unfortunate that there is no family dining area.

The Boondocks has great tasting Mexican dishes, as well as American favorites. This bar is quiet, clean and welcoming. The staff are all well-trained and friendly. We enjoy the occasional meal here, as there is something for even the pickiest eater. The Boondocks is located on the outside edge of town, but is not inconveniently located for most people.

The Carrie novel by Stephen King was one of his early works, and one of the best. It is known all over the world and best known from the movie version of the story. The strict rule from Carrie's mother is incredibly cruel by my standards and cannot imagine having the stress of living with a parent who was so controlling. The students in this story were incredibly cruel to Carrie, causing her to go into a rage, killing almost everyone in the huge fire that ensued. This is a chilling story that I would recommend to anyone who likes the spooky type work of Stephen King.

Thinner by Stephen King is a fabulous novel. The story is based around curses enforced by an elderly gypsy man. The old gypsy curses one man, who was quite overweight, to become "thinner". The character began losing weight faster than he could have ever imagined and death was coming. He fought with the old gypsy to reverse the curse, had to do some cursing of his own in the meantime. The ending was unusual, but consistent with Stephen King's work. I would recommend this book, as it is one of my favorites from this author.

I loved this novel, Bag Of Bones, by Stephen King. It was very interesting, held my attention from beginning to end. I loved the storyline, the ghosts and spirits, the setting on the lake and the characters were very believeable. I recommend that any avid Stephen King fan definitely purchase and read this novel, as it is a delightful story.

Pace Chevrolet is a good place to go when you are shopping locally for a Chevy vehicle. You are better off if you get one of the veteran salespeople when you are ready to purchase. Our experience is that the younger or newer salespersons (3 separate cases) tend to lose paperwork, sell you something other than what you think you are getting when it comes to warranties, etc. I feel that this business has a lot of potential, but I know who I will deal with when I am ready to buy another vehicle.

The Isis Back-To-Work Breast Pump set is a nice set for using when going back to work. This pump comes in a nice insulated case, with bottles, cold packs, seals and storage bags. The pump is easy to use, very portable, simple cleaning procedure and all around good quality. Whereas this is a manual pump, it is so versatile and portable and easy to steal away from work for a couple of minutes to do what's needed.
