I discovered Steve through my mother; she is 83 years old, and lives by herself. She was referred to Steve by a friend of hers, and had hired Steve on and off for about 7 years. I had met Steve at various times while visiting with my Mom, and noted that he always would drop what he was doing to give my Mom a hand when she needed it. Since I had mentioned to mom that I was going to remodel the basement of my house, but so far had bad luck with finding a good contractor, Mom advised me to contact Steve. Since my Mom trusts Steve, I thought I could do no worse than at least calling him. Steve got back to me quickly, and came on time for our appointment. For about 2 hours in the basement, we talked about everything. Steve listened to my ideas and my concerns. He offered (and I took him up on it), to take me to Home Depot to look at various materials for my remodel, explained the pros and cons of materials, and gave me a lot to think about. Steve never asked for any compensation for his time spent at HD, and thus I was sufficiently impressed with Steve's knowledge and desire to be of service to me, that I asked him to write me up a quote. I got back to him within the hour, after he gave me that quote. His quote was very reasonable (and simply detailed), and allowed me to get everything done, without sacrificing anything. Steve finished the remodel on time and within my budget. I have already recommended Steve to my friends, and I intend to use Steve in the near future to check off more items on my "honey do" list
