Gloria's Barn is located in the middle of San Juan Island. It is worth checking out if you need furniture or are trying to get rid of furniture. They have a good selection of used household furniture for sale at fair prices. I have sold a couple of things through Gloria's and they handled the sales/comission process fairly and efficiently.

One morning my car refused to start. After jumping it, I took it into Scott Sherman Auto Care. They diagnosed the problems, but were not able to fix it until the next day. The service was professional and the price seemed reasonable. They use "menu" pricing that bills you based on the task, not actual hours worked. As a result, the estimate they gave was accurate.
I did not shop around on price, so I do not know how they compare to the competition on price. They offer a $30 discount ($15 on parts and $15 on service) for AAA members.

The Jolly Roger Taproom is located at the north end of the Ballard bridge. It's worth going out of your way to try the mini burgers, or Lil Jollys as they call them. For a little more than $3 you get three miniature burgers along with a choice of several tasty dipping sauces. If you go for the version with cheese and grilled onions they are about $5. I would almost go so far as to say they are the best burger in Seattle.
The Jolly Roger also has fantastic onion rings and good beer.

We've used Flip on two remodeling projects. We have been impressed with the both the quality of workmanship and the quality of their team members. There are definitely cheaper contractors out there, but you get a great finished product for what you pay for with Flip.
The one caveat is that their project management and customer service can vary between poor and great.

We've been sending our dog to Bone-A-Fide for over a year now. They have a fantastic five acre facility for the dogs to run and play in. Our dog is always excited when she gets there. When she returns, she has had so much fun she sleeps for a day or two!
While it is a haul from Seattle, to remove the hassle factor they have several people that will pick up and return your dog from Bone-A-Fide.

The Market Chef is located one block from the ferry terminal in Friday Harbor. They have a broad selection of made to order sandwiches that are consistently excellent. Their bread is always freshed baked that morning.
Their fresh case offers a variety of prepared salads and main courses available to eat in or take home. These items often represent what is freshly available on the local farms.
My only complaint is that they are closed on weekends.
If you have having an event on island, they also do catering.

We recently had a pest (rodents had gotten into the attic) problem and called Willard's based upon a recommendation from a friend. They sent somone out the day we called, patched two very small holes (rats need only a hole the size of a quarter to be able to squeeze in) that had allowed access, set traps, and then followed up with visits for two weeks after. Very professional, prompt and efficient. We would strongly recommend.

When we moved to the neighborhood, we tried out several dry cleaners in the area. Bakker's was the best of the lot. Their prices are reasonable and they also offer a stamp card to provide an additional discount. They generally take ~3-4 days to get clothes back to you, but can be faster if you ask.
