Though you get the sense from the employees that this is a clothing store for some hipster-elite crowd, Deeluxe is in truth a harmless vintage playground. Jeans priced from as low as $8 up to $50 for higher-end brands, jackets ranging about the same, and T-shirts for $5 to $20, it’s a great place to sass up your wardrobe and experiment with new styles without the risk of damaging your bank account, or leaving with dirty, cheap clothes. It’s the Nordstom of thrift stores; think Buffalo Exchange on a budget.

The only theatre outside of L.A. that plays the "limited relase" films, this is a great, small theatre to see the good stuff. I saw "Good Night and Good Luck" with George Clooney. The staff is friendly and the concession stand prices are slightly better than other theatres. Parking is a little rough, especially on weekends, but it's still managable. Bring a date!

I cannot stress this enough: Steamers gave me the best espresso I've ever had, hands down. I work at a coffee shop in Riverside, and I take some amount of pride in our espresso and our methods of extraction, but never have I tasted such wonderful, smooth, thick espresso as Steamers.
Coffee aside, Steamers is a good place to relax and to have a sandwich (the roast beef is good; the au jus sauce is average). The only thing that's ever disappointed me there is the occasional flaky service, and the awful bagel I had one morning (whipped cream cheese, piled on for days, and way overpriced). Go watch some relaxing jazz in the evening time. Visit or call them for their ambitious schedule of events.

Welcomed by the black and white pictures of “Girlfriend of the Month” candidates, then invited by the wonderful smell, Buca De Beppo is hyperbolized, but authentic, Italian dining and cuisine.
My first trip to this restaurant was with my girlfriend. It’s long been a family favorite for the Sernas. During our wait (on a Friday evening, about 20 minutes), we toured the hyper-catholic restaurant; one room is an enormous round table that easily sits 30, centered around a life-scale model of the Pope’s head. Clearly, someone with a sense of humor was in charge of decoration.
The menu is unique. Every dish is offered in different sizes (2-3 people, 4+ people), and the food is served family-style in the middle of the table. In this sense, the prices are deceiving; appetizers and drinks included, it cost my girlfriend and me about $35 to eat there.
We chose the Bruschetta as an appetizer. It was average, but still good. Our main course was the Macaroni Rosa, which is broccoli, chicken, and peas in a wonderful “rosa” sauce. The rosa sauce was incredible; it’s a cream sauce with tomato sauce added, making it pink in color. I’ve spent long nights since trying to create it at home. For that sauce alone, the restaurant is worth it, not to mention the pasta was cooked perfectly, the chicken was moist and the veggies were fresh. For dessert, we shared cannolies. They were wonderful, but we were too stuffed to finish them.
My new favorite restaurant, Buca Di Beppo is a wonderful choice for a family dinner, a group gathering, or a fun, intimate date.

I can't lie: I was not here for very long. I stopped by to grab some take-out sushi on the way to the train.
In this small amount of time, I established three things: that the servers were rude to me, that their bar was impressive, and that the unagi was just wonderful.
The sushi prices were impressively low, especially considering how great the food was, but the portions are quite small. Also, advertised was an all-you-can-eat sushi champagne brunch on Sundays, which included a chocolate fountain; I would not at all mind giving that a try.
Bottom line: if you're not looking for a huge meal, Chomp has wonderful, cheap sushi.
