Got a treasured piece of refrigerator artwork? Now put it on a sweatshirt for all to see!
http://www.personalcreations.com/shop/thumbnail.asp?world_code=1&ensemble_code=5175XW&search_type=subcategory&search_words=children's%20artwork
I ordered this with a picture especially drawn for Mamaw by my 4 year old for Christmas.
It is very easy to do, just scan the "art" ;), save it in JPG format in your "pictures" file, then upload the image! The site gives step by step, easy to understand instructions!
The price is reasonable as well! $29.95 for an adult size!
The sweatshirt I ordered arrived today and even the yellow shows up well!, I was concerned that it was too light and would not show but it does. It looks like it was drawn with crayon (that is what she drew the picture with) right on the shirt!
The sweatshirt is white poly/cotton blend shirt. It is machine wash/dry.
I also ordered a custom T Shirt for Granny! The T shirts are only $19.95 for adult sizes.
Just type in "Children's Artwork" in the search box on the Personal Creations site and all the products you can put the personal touch on will show! Everything from mugs to slothing to canvas!

This may sound strange, especially for a female but here goes:
My baby is currently in a coma ~we disconnected his battery~ He got punched in the nose and broke it pretty bad. Bad enough that his airbags deployed. Hopefully soon time and money will allow him to be repaired. Yes you heard me correctly, my car is MALE. He is my Baron. He is a 1989 LeBaron convertible, red with gray interior and black top. (there should be NO other color tops)
His birthday is the same day as my late great dane's. (yes, I looked up my car's birthday AND history) He began life as a gigolo in Florida. People would rent him out for his topless service. After that a local car lot bought him he came to NC. A man bought him for his wife. She did not care too much for him but kept him awhile and then decided to buy a brand new car. They put him at their business near the Greensboro coliseum with a for sale sign on him. I happened to drive by one day and saw him, LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT! I bought him as soon as I could get ahold of the people. He needed a few repairs and did have some miles on him but overall he was in GREAT shape. I went EVERYWHERE possible in him, topless if at all possible. I bought him some T shirts just for him, yes I bought shirts for my car, I put them on his front seats so people don't burn their backs as it can get a little toasty with the top down ;)
My late daughter, Heather, her friends, my animals, and I have been here, there, and everywhere in him. No one else is allowed to drive him. I would cringe when I would take him in to be inspected and they would pull him into the bay. I also would THOROUGHLY check out the inspector. If he was dirty he would NOT be touching my Baron much less sitting in him!
He drove wonderfully! I have had only 3 problems with him 1. his power steering lines developed a leak. Easy to fix and 2. his thermostat went and he would start to overheat if he was not moving. 3. His radiator got some pinholes. (got a new radiator for my birthday one year!~yup the radiator was my present!) That's all and he has well over 200K on him. (I believe he is closer to 300k) Everyone I have spoken with said there is NO way that engine would ever make it to 200K but mine has not only made it to that mark but blew passed it and was still going strong.
He drives GREAT in the snow as well. I prefer to drive him in poor weather than my 4 wheel drive vehicle!
Shortly after I got him my mom got a miata. Those are fun to drive but have NO ROOM. Their tops are also manual where on my LeBaron all I have to do is hit a button and the top raises or lowers. Also my LeBaron has a roomy trunk and a full backseat! I don't recall exactly what milage he gets but I do remember it is very good for an older larger car.
One day I had picked Heather up from school and we were on the highway driving home. This fool in front of me slammed on his brakes for no apparent reason (he was seeing shadows or so he said) and I had nowhere to go. I hit the brakes and tried to run off the road to avoid them but ended up with my nose under their back end. When I hit him I was doing about 20 mph. The car behind me swerved, barely missed me but hit another car. We all tied up traffic for HOURS. He will still run but the way his nose is broken I don't want to hurt him any more so we loaded him up on a rollback (no dragging behind another vehicle for him-he will be carried!) to bring him home then we put him in a coma by disconnecting his battery.
I still have my hat I wear when I drive him (yes I have a hat just for driving around in him LOL) and his T shirts waiting on him to be back in great health so we can go places together topless once again. My boyfriend offered to buy me another rag top, even another LeBaron if I wanted but I will never give up my Baron.

I use the regular Listerine Mouth Wash on my miniature steer, Josh before taking him to shows or any pet event. Yes, I use Listerine on my moo cow! LOL It is WONDERFUL to cut down or out any odors he may have. I am not sure if it repels bugs or not but we have not been bothered by bugs once he has been sprayed with Listerine. The Listerine spray has been used for many years by ALOT of people that take their animals around to shows, nursing homes, hospitals,... I give him a good bath then once he is dry I spray him all over , avoiding his eyes of course, with the Listerine. No more "farm animal" smell.
It's GREAT!

When I opt for a soak in the tub I ALWAYS add a little baking soda and sea salt. Yes sea salt. I ALWAYS buy it in bulk from local health food shops and have a container in my bathroom just for it. The price varies in bulk and also depending on how fine it is ground but is very reasonable because you are not paying for a brand name or fancy packaging. I have seen it in every health food store I have been in. Some of the regular grocery stores do carry it in bulk as well but it is usually cheaper in the health food stores such as Earth Fare. It not only helps your skin but if you have any nicks, cuts, or general boo boos it will help them heal faster with less chance of infection. Some piercing facilities will give a small bag of sea salt with cleaning instructions for new piercings. It does not burn like you would think salt on wounds would. The finer it is ground the better it dissolves. You can add a few drops of fragrance oils or a fragrant bubble bath if you so choose just for scent. It is wonderful and good for you!

No, not to eat but to shave with! About two years ago I began using a product called Alba Moisturizing Shave Cream for men and women by Alba Botanica. I chose the mango vanilla scent.
OOOHHHHH! it smells soooooo gooooood! You just use a tiny bit at a time so a tube goes a long way. It does not feel heavy like some shave creams do. I also have not had problems with clogged, gummed up razors since I began using this shave cream.
It contains organic botanicals, including organic aloe vera, and vitamin E so it is GREAT for your skin. Soap free and made for all skin types. They are non aerosol so they are also better for the environment.
The Alba Botanical company does not believe in animal testing.
It runs about $5.00 per 8oz tube and often there are free 1.5oz tubes with the larger ones!

Well, trying to save a little money on much needed supplies I will always try the generic or store brand to see how it compares. If it is comparable I will buy that instead of brand name to save a little.
One of my latest trials was with Laura Lynn Super Plus Absorbency Tampons. They are the Ingle's Grocery Store brand. I have used their brand of other products before and liked them. The box said they are comparable to my usual brand, Tampax, so I decided to give them a try. BIG mistake!
Out of the box of 40 tampons, over 10 of them did not have a string or had a partial string so short and thin it was useless! (I stopped counting at 10) So those got thrown away. They do not seem as absorbent as my usual brand. There was quite a bit of "leaking" with this brand. Some of the applicators did not want to work properly or easily either. Overall this brand of tampon is a big waste of money.
Men, you may come back and join in the conversations now as this "taboo topic" is over. ;)

Burt's Bees children's toothpaste is the only toothpaste my youngest daughter will use. She even turned down a toothpaste with the "Princess' " on it! Now that is saying something! When she was younger we had to lock up the toothpaste because she ate more than one tube. She would squeeze it out into her mouth and literally eat it like candy. It is fluoride free and 100% natural so there is no worry about swallowing it. They fully disclose what is in their products and it is all 100% natural. All colors are natural colors from natural made in nature products! They also NEVER test anything on animals! You can even recycle the tube it is in!
Once I tried the Burt's Bees toothpaste for adults I was hooked as well. It does not leave that "burning" sensation the other toothpastes do and it tastes good. Adults can use the children's formula as well.
It does cost a little more in comparison but to me it is worth it.
This is from the Burt's Bees site about their oral care products:
Some toothpastes have packaging that reads, “If ingested, call Poison Control.” Yikes! And, believe it or not, some toothpastes are packed with sugar. Not ours. Burt’s Bees toothpaste is formulated to make you and your dentist smile.
